A few notes

Keep double-checking, and switch to Forms occasionally. Generally does a good job on carryovers. Can misinterpret some things. Double-check your Schedule C and Schedule A. Never hurts to see if they "smell" right, and compare to prior year. Excellent dead-accurate import from Scottrade, saved me a lot of time.
What's great about it: Accurate, thorough.
What's not so great: Can make errors.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

Millions - seven figures

It is absolutely rediculous that Schedule's D, 8959, and E do not accept anything over $9,999,999.00. I was told that this is Turbo Tax policy but Schedule C does accept numbers in the 7 digits. SO WHY NOT SCHEDULE D?
What's great about it: Easy to use.
What's not so great: Some schedules DO NOT ACCEPT a number over 9,999,999.00
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Makes a moderately complex return simple. I feel that I get most of the advantages that I would receive from a professional.
What's great about it: Easily walks you through the process. Love the integration with its deductible for donations. very smooth.
What's not so great: none to speak of

Why not let people know that they are being penalized for not withholding enough taxes? Nowhere was that mentioned until I filed and saw we had penalties. Not cool.

Without Turbo Tax I would be paying hundreds to an Accountant. As a single person I always did my own taxes. As a married home owner and now with my husband owning a business, I have been a Turbo Tax user for several years. I used one of the national Tax Agencies when we bought our first home but the amount we had to pay was not worth it. Turbo Tax covers everything, I don't think they could help us anymore.
What's great about it: Walked me through everything and for a reasonable fee, audit protection JUST IN CASE!
What's not so great: The fee to have the filing deducted from the refund

Interesting Situation with Civil Unions

I just worked thru my 'fake' federal tax form in the hopes of getting to a joint state return. Seemed easy enough - only had to redo one set of tax return entries... But then, Turbo Tax filed my 'fake' federal without asking if I that was the form I wanted to (re)file. What is the IRS going to say to me when they get a tax return that doesn't fit? Then TT charged me to file our state, when I thought I had one free state form to file! Ugh. I know I'm a minority, and that this is a period of flux before my committment is fully honored, but a little more control at the every end would have helped. I'll have to think twice, maybe three, times before using TT again next year.
What's great about it: fill in the blanks
What's not so great: confusing!
