THIS WAS BY FAR THE EASIEST FILING THAT I HAVE EVER COMPLETED. TURBO TAX CONTINUES TO IMPROVE THEIR PRODUCT IN WAYS THAT MAKE THIS PROCESS FEEL LESS DREADFUL AND/OR SCARY.
What's great about it: EASY LANGUAGE; NICE BIG, FAT FONT SO I DIDN'T HAVE TO USE MY GLASSES

Used turbo tax last year so helpful wanted to use it again this year.

What's not so great: nothing special
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Overall Okay, Unless You Have Any K-1 Forms
on April 13, 2014

Problems importing and using some of txt files (bug - imports, but then does not present the data for editing), unnecessarily prompts for addresses that it does not use (replaces with one already entered for another section, but not correct for the respective section). Handling of K-1's is worse than last year.
What's great about it: Carry Forward Of Most of Last Year's Information
What's not so great: Bugs, Does Not Handle K-1's Well

Turbo Tax Personal and Small Buisness Software
on April 13, 2014

Overall a fairly good experience. I miss the fluidity of the previous versions in years past where all deductions and carryovers were prompted and offered to fill in for you. Please, please, please, import more information from the previous years returns.
I think it would also be nice to include 1 state e file for free, if the user's state has an income tax.
What's great about it: Easier than doing manual forms. Deduction prompts are nice
What's not so great: Fails to transfer carryover deductions from previous years.
Pros: I moved

I owed, big time, once again...

I have used TT for about 8 years straight, and it has performed well. Although I don't like the outcome of owing city or federal taxes, I trust the quality of the software. I was surprised when I made a change from married jointly to married separately that the original amount owed increased by about $80, and for the life of me I could automatically or manually return to the lower amount that was actually owed. A glitch in the software? I would say so. By returning to the beginning and resetting my choices, all changes should have reverted back, too. That didn't happen.
What's great about it: TurboTax provided simplicithy for an onerous activity
What's not so great: Confusing results when filing married jointly versus married separately
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Still (MLP) crazy after all these years
on April 13, 2014

If the programmers could only straighten out the MLP mess....
What's great about it: Familiar - not much changed in format from previous year(s)
What's not so great: Unfortunately, same for MLP taxes - still unchanged and still unworkable
Pros: I bought or sold investments
