Turbo Tax Personal and Small Buisness Software

Overall a fairly good experience. I miss the fluidity of the previous versions in years past where all deductions and carryovers were prompted and offered to fill in for you. Please, please, please, import more information from the previous years returns.
I think it would also be nice to include 1 state e file for free, if the user's state has an income tax.

What's great about it: Easier than doing manual forms. Deduction prompts are nice
What's not so great: Fails to transfer carryover deductions from previous years.

I owed, big time, once again...

I have used TT for about 8 years straight, and it has performed well. Although I don't like the outcome of owing city or federal taxes, I trust the quality of the software. I was surprised when I made a change from married jointly to married separately that the original amount owed increased by about $80, and for the life of me I could automatically or manually return to the lower amount that was actually owed. A glitch in the software? I would say so. By returning to the beginning and resetting my choices, all changes should have reverted back, too. That didn't happen.
What's great about it: TurboTax provided simplicithy for an onerous activity
What's not so great: Confusing results when filing married jointly versus married separately
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Still (MLP) crazy after all these years

What's great about it: Familiar - not much changed in format from previous year(s)
What's not so great: Unfortunately, same for MLP taxes - still unchanged and still unworkable

Great but room for improvement

I have used TurboTax for a number of years and it is a great product. My main request for improvement is more thorough and clear logic for the way-too-many situational factors in our tax code. TurboTax handles some of these very well, but for others it can ask you 8 to 12 questions that require data to answer before it tells you that you don't need to file that particular form after all, even though the first or second question was the actual "decision maker." Similarly, even after TurboTax has concluded a form is not required, the product still flags incomplete data fields in that form that you need to complete in order to complete your return, even though that particular form will not be part of the return. I know the core of this problem is the tax code itself, but TurboTax has the skill to fix this and I hope they do.
What's great about it: Thorough, flexible, a great value
What's not so great: Still room for improvement with better decision trees

I have used TurboTax for the past serveral years. Each year I have notice an improvement in the programs which make the filing of taxes easier each year. the software is easy of use, the transfer of information from prior year and comparison of current year to prior year has assisted verifing that all income and deduction items are included.
What's great about it: easy of use, transfer of information from prior year, comparison of current year to prior year.
What's not so great: the information on the the college credit could be detailed

Using Turbo-Tax works for small businesses and personal taxes.
What's great about it: Great on catching math errors. Provides reminders on possible issues.

Almost too easy..

I have been using the product for years and it gets easier every year..This year it was so easy I was almost afraid to file so quick...I`m a Real Estate Agent and my return can get complicated , but TurboTax makes it easy...
What's great about it: Walking me thru it was great,I felt like I didn`t miss anything...
What's not so great: I really can`t think of anything bad to say about TurboTax
