Problems

MAC problems:
Could not increase size of screens to make it easier to read.
No menu button
No menu access
e filing was not smooth! Program would not validate exiling without restarting computer. Program insisted it needed to be updated when it was completely updated already.
This was a very frustrating experience at the filing screens.
I have used Turbotax on my PC in the past and did not have these problems, I was surprised that it worked so poorly on my MAC,

I liked the ease of use, its very fast and the explanations are very clear. Made something I usually dread into something I can finish without headaches.
What's great about it: Very easy, fast to the point and very well explained
What's not so great: Sometimes cant change certain expenses even going back to screen

The Tax Program

I saved hundreds of $ this year with TT-Home & Business. It was really hard and time consuming my firtst time through. I think it will be much easier next year. I learned a lot and talked to a lot of very nice experts on both TT & IRS. My MAC was a bit of a problem for them but they moved me to a MAC expert. Wait time was inconvenient but tollerable. I reccommend TurboTax.
What's great about it: Very detailed. Experts were outstanding.
What's not so great: Hard to get it all right.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

I was forced into retirement so I to contend with the complications of ending one career and starting another. It all seemed so confusing! I thought i would need to take my taxes to a tax consultant this year. I decided to get everything organized with Turbo Tax first. Turbo Tax walked me through everything and before i know it I was done!!! I didn't need a tax consultant after all.
What's great about it: Easy to understand
What's not so great: well it's taxes
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Still confusing at times

Overall, I wouldn't chose to do my taxes any other way, however the repitition between personal and business is really confusing. 1099-MISC comes up on both sides, which can duplicate entries (and income) if you don't notice. I seemed to enter and then accidentally delete multiple times depending on the day and number of times I restarted my tax work.
What's great about it: Can take my time to get everything right
What's not so great: Confusing when entries in "personal" and "business" overlap
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

I always use Turbo Tax. Though I am not a tax accountant, I have done my own taxes for over 40 years. Wouldn't do it any other way.
