Turbotax is easy to follow and for those who are familiar with doing taxes, it is very easy. I like the fact that you can choose whether to let thm guide you, or do it yourself. Switching back and forth to forms is easy and convenient. The updating service is a must and very easy and convenient.
What's great about it: Easy to follow
What's not so great: Have'nt found any.

I don't know what I need to file, but TruboTax does. It is easy to follow the directions and I like the ability to go back and change things.

As easy as taxes can be

Turbotax walks you through each step of the process and makes sure you don't leave any money on the table. It finds every deduction or credit that you qualify for and the maximum amount that you do qualify for. Each item has a pop up explanation if you are unsure of what it is so that you can double check and make sure whether or not it applies to you. After using turbotax for a couple of years I had a year where I thought things were extra complicated so I went to a tax preparation place and was kind of upset to realize that they were using the same basic kind of software because they just asked me the same types of questions in the same order. If you are going to a tax prep place you are just throwing money away. Turbotax will give you the same benefits in the comfort of your own home at your own pace. Worried about audit protection? They have that too with the audit defense. The combined cost of the software and audit defense are less than what most tax preparation places charge by far.

What's not so great: sometimes hard to tell which version you need

Thank you. 2013 taxes were especially tough because of a personal loss.
If I had one request it would be a cheat sheet ahead of time that helped to lump together the expenses the way they need to be filed so that I didn't have to keep re-calculating because I put expenses together that shouldn't be together. A cheat sheet of all your areas so that info could be ready to input would be nice.
What's great about it: Ease of moving through tax process
What's not so great: Some areas hard to understand--didn't seem to apply

I hate taxes, Turbotax is the only thing that keeps me sane while filing. Keep your info together and it walks you through the mine field. Asks questions at the right times and provides tremendous help.
What's great about it: concise, easy to understand, effortless

I only have used TurboTax for the last 5 years since I became an SE engineering consultant. I am fairly good at math as long as there is no $-signs in front of the numbers. I use Quickens (mostly for my home business) and TurboTax together because they can talk to each other across the personal and home business transactions for easy tax preparations. Quicken also provides me with a tax planner year round so I know to expect when the tax time comes. I will definitely use these tools again and maximize my tax refund.
What's great about it: Link with Quicken. Year-to-year continuity.
What's not so great: Few but slightly different looks/interface each year that can confuse me sometime.
