2012 amended tax return
on July 6, 2014

Turbotax entered my W-2 incorrectly on the federal return and correctly on the state return. I had to file an amended return for 2012. Since I only enter my W-2's once and the program uses my federal information for the state return I do not understan why my state W-2 information is correct and my federal W-2 information is $6000.00 lower?
What's great about it: Ihave used Turbotax for many years
What's not so great: Turbotax entered my W-2 incorrectly on the federal return
We've now used Turbo0 tax for the past 10 years. it s always a blast to get going and usually I can move right through with input! The major problem is always with startup! i can remember from year to year whether not my Sposue ID or mine is the correct If this minor bug, can be worked out , so that initial startup becomes a pice of cake......., then this product will be "Simply Outstanding " . The ability to walk throught the various modules and make the necessary adjustments, all while double checking and triple checking the inputed data is an outstanding ability. I'll be there every year, to get going.
What's great about it: Can always get your taxes done without pressure
What's not so great: Will not goback in some sections after making initial selection
A couple of forms did not always link data properly - in particular, an asset work sheet that didn't enter prior depreciation. Quick Zoom showed that the info was there.
I use the same vehicles in more than one business. I should be able to enter the basic information, make, year, total mileage etc. once only. This lets me allocate the milage per Schedule C rather than have to re-enter all of it for every C vehicle report. It is a database, after all.
Major annoyance: No longer able to generate 1099s from Home and Business. Never able to generate W-2 from the Mac version.
What's great about it: Easier than ever, fewer bugs
What's not so great: Minor links do not work properly on a few forms. No master vehicle entry sheet
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)
I like Turbotax. This year though I received a Schedule K-1 with entries in box 16 D and E. This caused TurboTax to throw a very cryptic error. I looked it up on the TurboTax support forum and a lot of users had the exact same cryptic error! Something about a separate worksheet being needed for D and E. I never did figure it out, nor did the other people on the support forum. This experience messed up an otherwise flawless performance. Intuit needs to get that sucky error condition fixed! Obviously it has existed for a while, and it is very confusing. TurboTax does a good job making tax stuff easy...so fix this!
What's great about it: easy to follow step-by-step
This is my 7th year using Turbo Tax and it just keeps getting better. Taxes are never looked foward to, but even if you procrastinate, you will be plesently suprised how easy and stress free using this program is.
claimed birth date missing so would not filed electronically, verified that I indeed did include birth date, but system would not allow me to refile electronically.
How inadequate is this.
What's not so great: filed electronically would not accept
