Still using it.

I started out with MacinTax back in the day, and I'm continuing to use TurboTax every year. One year I went to a CPA friend to see if I should use his services. After looking over my situation, he advised me to save money and continue using TurboTax. (I have a lot of self-employment income and deductions, but no complicated investments or odd tax situations.)
What's great about it: Easy walk through my self-employment income
What's not so great: Finding answers to my questions, although this is getting easier and eaiser every year.

I was happy with this year's Turbo Tax. I get it every year and it always gets me through.
What's great about it: Complete, easy to understand, clear
What's not so great: Not so easy to find ways to call for people who like to hear what to do rather than click a mouse over and over

For the most part your product is a good quality product, with the exception of a few redundancies in the programming. The other problem i had is when using the back button. Sometimes i would hit back, then it would skip multiple pages and when i started moving forward again somehow i would not end up at some of the same pages. Also this review is one of the worst i ve ever taken, I don't know how many different nicknames i ve tried, im getting angry just trying to finish it.
What's great about it: easy to enter information
What's not so great: redundancy
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

My Years with Turbo Tax
on April 14, 2014

Math is not my forte. But with Turbo Tax I've saved so much on accountant fees that I've purchased my computers AND kept them upgraded. We use Turbo Tax Home and Business. Our taxes are a little complicated - income from many payers, some income for royalties and some income for services. Most years we use the 1099 Reporter for people we've hired. Turbo Tax guides me through it and helps me avoid mistakes and saves me money every year. Thanks a million, Turbo Tax
A long time Turbo Tax customer
What's great about it: I've used Turbo Tax for years now.

A curious thing...

I use TT Home & Business. I consult, and a few clients send me 1099's, but most do not even though they "should." But CPA's tell me the IRS is very inconsistent on this issue, and I should disregard the part of TurboTax that requires detailing of each 1099. I report at least five times as much money as I get in 1099's. Why does TurboTax require complete detailing of 1099's, if it doesn't become part of the tax return?
What's great about it: Very thorough.
What's not so great: The 1099-MISC issue - what matters?
