I found Turbo Tax easy to use. Since I am not very accounting savvy, too many questions causes confusion. But I survived. As a matter of fact, I have been using Turbo tax for the last 5 years without any problems.
What's great about it: Easy to use
What's not so great: Too many questions and sometimes causes confusion
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

not happy with update process

In all the years that I have used your product, I have NEVER had to log out of my identity (where the product was installed) and had to log into the administrative identity to have a simple update done to the program.
It wasn't the fault of your program, but in doing so it crashed my computer and made me have to take it in to have my memory chips replaced.
What's great about it: helped me keep on track with entering all my info
What's not so great: update process

I've been using TurboTax for a LONG TIME. It's had its ups and down, but the 2013 version is a real winner. Thanks Intuit for getting me through another year!
What's great about it: Fast, Accurate, Professional
What's not so great: A little kludgy getting back to where I did something earlier
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

Great Help, I have used TT for over 20 years. Keep doing all this great work.
What's great about it: easy to use
What's not so great: lots of pages-perhaps can select what you want in advance

I will only use Turbotax - it's what I've been using for 12 years already. I just wish that more of the previous year would transfer, such as ALL my previous typed descriptions, and other oddball things. It would be PARTICULARLY helpful if the business Net Operating Loss would automatically carry forward -- or at least if the program would ASK you if you wanted to carry it forward again.
That's my beef. But I wouldn't use another tax program.
What's great about it: transfers previous years easily, good hints
What's not so great: noticeably different every year - good and bad

Return review

The questions regarding mileage for business was confusing. The question asked if i wanted to put in total mileage for the year or business miles, I choose business miles only. During the review I was informed I neede the mileage fo the entire year. I had to estimate a figure based on the last three years mileage.
During the review I was also informed I needed to check one of the At Risk boxes. I was stumped! the Explaination was confusing, I didn't study income taxes. Again I took a stab and chose one.
A bit more explaination on these two items might be of some help. If I had a problem with these, others may also.
What's great about it: mostly clear and understandable
What's not so great: a couple of items were a bit confusing
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

1099 Instructions lacking, enter once or twice?
on April 14, 2014

I have used Turbo Tax for several years. This year was the most confusing. I entered my business expenses then personal. In the personal section, it asked again for my 1099 information and my business information. I checked for answers and got two with opposite recommendations. I definitely did not want to add in 1099s twice.
When I did a review, I had two business at same address. I deleted one business. It also took me over an hour to figure out how to remove an untitled 1099. I had to find it because I could not proceed with E-filing.
