What's great about it: Affordable
What's not so great: Several glitches throughout process of returns
From the seamless transfer of my information, to alerting me to credits and deductions I didn't even know existed, Turbotax made my annual tax nightmare of two businesses, two jobs, and a farm as easy as it could be. I like TurboTax much better than the cheaper competitors. It is well worth the cost, no matter what version you use.
What's great about it: Found credits and deductions I didn't know about
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)
As a first time homeowner preparing to rent out a part of my home next year, many questions arose. The community clarified everything - either from direct response or searching similar questions. Kudos, Turbo community. Some of the problems I encountered were resolved with Turbo updates but these updates came after spending several hours/days trying to figure things out.
What's great about it: The community answered all my questions and clarified every confusion from reading IRS forms. Thank You.
What's not so great: Some perplexing situations on turbo tx forms were clarified with updates but days to months after issues
I would really recommend Turbo Tax to all and sundry. The entry format is easy to use and covers in detail all requirements of the tax code. The constant updating of the tax code is a tremendous aid in exact income tax reporting. Congratulations to the Turbo Tax Team.
What's great about it: It was easy to enter all of my tax data. The review to discover any errors was great.
What's not so great: Trying to eliminate a form that I did not need took more time than I wished to take. However, once I discovered how toa
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)
In filing a return for a dead person there are not clear instructions as to how to proceed. When turbo tax offers up correct data from a year ago. IRS wants it zeroed out for some reason. Three filings later, it is accepted. Still waiting on the return to be deposited. The proof will be when the money arrives.
What's great about it: Log on update and go
What's not so great: Major problem. Turbo submits correct data from a year ago
Sometimes knowing too much is not a good thing. Because Turbo Tax is easy to use, it is also easy to procrastinate. I like the explanations as it allows me to understand that I can or cannot take a deduction. Its also nice when they give examples, and FAQs.
Another nice thing is that with my busy schedule for running around, I don't really have time (or the money) to take it to the other guys. The last time I did that I had to wait, sit, argue with them that that is not how the deduction was working per our HR people. Bring more papers, sit, then wait a couple of weeks for the paper work to be done. After all that, I ended up paying even more because they made some mistakes! (That was not how the HR people set it up)
Thanks
What's great about it: easy to use. I can see where it all gets entered
What's not so great: Easy to use, I can see where it all gets entered
I need someone to help with the above problem. I have received a rejection from the IRS and they say the return I mailed is incomplete or illegible. I need a call from TurboTax to advise me how to correct the return so it will not be rejected again (5 times) by the IRS.
What's great about it: I liked the ease of completing the return information in the past.
What's not so great: This year 2013 return is all jumbled and has my wife and I filing separately even though we entered MFJ.
