The most easy tax software so everyone can use. I would like to use it again next year.

Used TT for many years - still easy and complete

I use the Home & Business version to file my main job and my photographic business. i also have a K-1 and deduct a mortgage but other than that, my taxes are straighforward. Pro: Turbotax makes it easy to include what I need and not to miss anything. Con: This year's version seemed to take me to areas that were totally unrelated to my situation (such as all the farm income questions). If I had to revisit a section, I didn't see an easy way to navigate to a specific subsection and then return to the sub section I had just left. I may have missed some navigation button, but it seems other years UI was more intuitive to visit sections more randomly. Overall, I highly rate Turbotax and I will use it again next year.
What's great about it: Copies information from last years taxes.
What's not so great: Not easy to navigate to a section without repeating questions from other sections
Pros: I bought or sold investments

I've used Turbo Tax for about ten years and it seems to get easier and quicker to finish and file my taxes each year!
What's great about it: Plug in my information and Turbo Tax does the rest!
What's not so great: Being charged for State filing!

2013 Experience with Turbotax

I wish more info would carry over year to year. Bank info for refund didn;t carry over nor did State Refund amount. I wish the help info would cover W2 and 1099-R boxes that simply do not exist on some forms that come from companies. For example box 8 does not exist on my 1099-R from GE, but there is a box with no number called 'Account Number' with 'PEN' in there where Box seems likely to be. At least you could talk about fields not on these forms and what that means. Other than that the product works great. Thanks.
What's great about it: Consistent from year to year
What's not so great: State Refund doesn't carry forward well, Bank info for refund deposit did not carry over,

Tedious software for someone who knows how to file

software was easy to use, once you got the hang of it. cumbersome and tedious for someone who knows how to file a return.
outrageous that you charge for the software, then charge for the state return and then charge to efile and process a refund.
What's great about it: Walks through detail questions
What's not so great: cost - buying the program and then a state filing fee and efile fee as well. the total was almost the same as the cost
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Worth the time and effort

This was the first time in a long time we did our taxes ourselves. In general, worth saving the money and doing it through Turbo Tax. But sometimes when you are trying to figure out where the program put a data point you entered, it can be frustrating. Also, it is not always clear when you have a choice to file an additional form why it doesn't let you do that. But we will be repeat customers.
What's great about it: Makes it as easy as possible
What's not so great: Once you run into a problem, it is not that straightforward. Add'l costs surprising.
