I did not like that there was not a clear open place where I could find the customer support number. The questions area did not have the answers I was looking for.
What's great about it: was able to look up forms I needed

Better features than H&R Block

For those wanting to prepare their own tax returns, Turbo Tax is the best software available. Been using it for 10+ years, decided to try H&R Block last year. Boy was I disappointed. Went right back out and bought 2012 Turbo Tax. The only downfall to Turbo Tax, they have a limited number of Federal e-files. If you have a large family, some may have to mail their returns.
What's great about it: Great menus, easy access to forms, easy printing and filing.
What's not so great: Limited number of e-files.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Louisiana State Turbo Tax

Program does not accept Louisiana tax free income reported on 1099-R and received from "Louisiana Sheriffs' Pension & Relief Fund". Income is taxable to the Federal but not to the State. I had to use a local tax consultant. This was my daughters taxes, I will not have the same situation on my return.

2013 Review

It was very frustrating to have to click on the "CONTINUE" button at the bottom of each page, which means having to grab the mouse and navigate the curser to the button over and over again. I would much rather be able to use the "ENTER" button so that the hands stay on the keyboard, making the process much faster.
What's great about it: Very good

For someone like me who has personal income and a side business income, this software is very efficient, covers all of the deductions fast.

2013 refund

I have used turbo tax for years. It has always been easy to navigate, if you have to make a change turbo tax changes everything after you manually enter the correct info.
What's great about it: great help while walking thru the forms
What's not so great: sometimes have to go back and delete a form after it is determined you have to file a different way, standard verses ite

Turbo Tax Review

I've been preparing taxes for the last 30+ years and I think Turbo Tax is a great program for someone that knows what they are doing. Unfortunately, this program can be misleading, in some ways, for someone that does not typically prepare taxes.
Case in point, my brother prepared his taxes and took deductions he shouldn't have taken (i.e. attorney's fees, alimony and deduction for a child without the required form attached) but was mislead to believe he was allowed to take them.
I pray that he does not get audited, but more than likely all those deductions will trigger one.
What's great about it: Great program if you know what you are doing and have a tax background
What's not so great: Can be misleading if you don't know much about taxes
