Previous years' versions were easier to jump back and forth in. This year was much more difficult, especially when it came to correcting errors that the program found in my return. The error message was so abbreviated that I didn't understand it. To make matters worse, there was no link to jump back to where I could correct the error, and not even an explanation telling me where in the return I should look. Additionally, there were extra blank 1099s and other forms that mysteriously appeared, creating yet more error messages. I have used Turbo Tax for over 10 years and this year was a huge disappointment in that it took me at least two extra hours to deal with navigation issues.
What's great about it: transferring info from previous years; calculations done for me.
What's not so great: this year's program was so much more difficult to navigate.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

After completing my tax returned, I wanted to see the difference between filing jointly or separately to see if it was worth my wife getting a tax refund and me paying a little extra. I changed the selection to file separately and low and behold it appeared the tax bill was the same for me so we filed separately. However, after deleting my wife's information from my return, my tax bill went up by $4,000. Why? Because the W2 I had entered for my wife was automatically assigned to me. Didn't make any sense. Why can't you compare separate or joint filing instantly?
What's great about it: Easy to fill out forms
What's not so great: Hard to compare between filing separately or jointly
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I moved, I bought or sold investments

Excellent tool for someone who is not trained as an accountant to complete the Tax Returns year after year. I do not need to read up new rules as I rely on the latest version or updates to monitor for things like that. It makes filing easy and at times, fun to do (when I am getting a refund!).
What's great about it: I am not a chartered accountant but follow the Turbo Tax steps for my tax filing for years.
What's not so great: Cannot seem to be able to save a copy onto CDs.

I've used Turbo Tax for the past decade, and I wouldn't consider any other form of Completing and Filing my Taxes. In addition, Audit Support defended me twice in IRS Audits (due to unforeseen lump-sum income received in those years) and both times the Audit Support performed very professionally and admirably. By chance, the same lawyer handled both of my cases and her work was simply outstanding. Seriously, I can only thank Turbo Tax for offering such a great product to the public!
What's great about it: Extremely Thorough, yet Fast
What's not so great: None that I can think of!
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Absolutely the worst tax prep program on the market. I don't even want to waste any more time dealing with turbotax.

I've used TurboTax year after year. After the first time, subsequent uses of TurboTax become much easier to navigate. Tax benefits are well incorporated to make sure you get the most out of it. Love it ever since 2002.
What's great about it: Great way to personalize tax filing and getting the most of tax benefits that we may overlook
What's not so great: Haven't found any yet.
Pros: I had a baby

I have been using Turbo Tax for quite a few years. It has gotten better and more user friendly each year and I have had a good experience. I like the product. Some years I have had very simple tax situations; others have been more challenging, with added outside income from consulting activities. While I had to change which Turbo Tax product I was using, it was very seamless and hassle free.
It is super easy to e-File with Turbo Tax and my returns and refunds have been processed promptly.
All good!
What's great about it: Easy to use, carrys info forward, A++
What's not so great: The people used in the graphics are ...meh! That's all.

As the title says, I've been using TT for 5 years now. Overall it's a great product, especially for those, like me, who have a limited knowledge of the US taxation system. I was new to the US when I first started using TT and had absolutely no knowledge of US tax law so TT was incredibly helpful. Since then I've become muck more knowledgeable and have become a little frustrated that TT has not been updated to cater for some simple things like Universal Mortgage Application forms and HUD-1 forms. Why not have the fields from the HUD-1 referenced in the TT questions so we can simply copy them directly across instead of having to search out the relevant fields and - basically - guess, what TT is asking for. This is a standard form used by everyone. Make it easy for us please... and our returns will be more accurate too.
What's great about it: Overall easy to use and very helpful
What's not so great: Still no real guidance as far as investment mortgages go
Pros: I moved, I bought or sold investments
