I get to call the IRS because I want to file electronically. Selected file by mail a month ago because needed more information before filing and did not want incomplete data submitted to IRS accidentally. Had no intention of actually filing by mail. Had no idea could not change option later.
I think this is major for people like me who are not computer literate.
Also I saved my 2012 turbotax forms to my computer last year but the forms ceased to be accessible/exist. I had a geek techie help try to find them. This guy maintains the online site of an international retail sales corporation and he couldn't find my saved 2012 turbotax records.
This is supermajor
What's great about it: easy instructions until filing options
What's not so great: efile option disappears once file by mail selected
Migration of prior year data is always helpful, as well as use of It's Deductible SW to manage charitable contributions. My Home & Business edition easily handles my needs and allows me to properly track and record my income and expenses. It also provides feedback to assure I consider all options to optimize my return.
What's great about it: Good flow and familiarity with format, ease of experience with any new requirements.
Overall I like Turbo Tax and have used it for years. But it seems there is always one spot that isn't questioned right and messes up the entire form...making me to ask for help. this year was a nightmare with the home inheritance.
What's great about it: helps me threw it and also available live chat to help
What's not so great: very confusing on rental, inheritance of home, sale of second home.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)
