I do not believe my Quick Books Pro accounts are set up to correctly down load info to Turbo Tax.
How can I correct this situation?
What's great about it: The program walks you through every possable tax credit.
What's not so great: I would like to use my Quick Books Pro to download info.

Not what Turbo Tax used to be

I feel that Turbo Tax has gotten progressively worse over the past few years. If I have any tax situation beyond the fairly basic circumstances I am suddenly confronted with very complex questions from Turbo Tax that I do not know the answers to and Turbo Tax only provides reference to tax law documents. This is completely contrary to the supposed value of Turbo Tax. Unfortunately, these incidents occur after I have paid for the Turbo Tax program, after I have committed to Turbo Tax for filing and after I have spent numerous hours inputing data into the Turbo Tax return. This leaves me with the unhappy situation of guessing at what I am putting into my return to satisfy some unexplained variable or having to find the actual tax documents to learn what block on some form the Turbo Tax is referencing and what that block is asking for or determining that I have wasted my time and money on Turbo Tax and going to a tax professional. Needless to say, I have not chosen to use Turbo Tax to get a rush of anxiety ridden adrenalin or to play Russian Roulette with the IRS but this has been my most recent memories of using Turbo Tax. After over a decade of loyal Turbo Tax use, I am seriously considering doing something different next year.
This is the third year in a row that there was some internal Turbo Tax issue that prevented submission via the web. Of the three incidents, I was able, after several tries and various retransmitting to get the return e-filed and on the other occasion had to mail the return--and then fight to get my e-file costs refunded.
Even the nickname box on this review is getting kicked back for not having enough characters. What a hassle.
What's great about it: The basics are still well done and easy to do
What's not so great: the more advanced tax situations, like AMT, make me feel like I have been abandoned at the worst time
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

Turbo Tax continues to improve to make tax preparation easy and delightful to use. The screens are detailed and drilling down can be a pain at times,. but then the return doesn't list any errors and so electronic submission and direct deposit is easy and concise.
What's great about it: ALL went well and interface with ALL forms considerably better eith each new tax year
Pros: I had a baby, I moved, I bought or sold investments

Just an outstanding Tax Software. We do not have any investments but when we do I will continue to use Turbo Tax. I waited until April 14 to do my taxes and I got through everything by the filing deadline (even though I stayed up until 2 am to finish and submit).
What's great about it: Easy to navigate, User friendly, Love the audit risk and error check
What's not so great: Nothing bad
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

7 YR Double Declining Balance Depreciation
on April 15, 2014

In the past, would spend 45 mins to several hours looking for the right trigers to calculate my depreciation using the 7 year declining balance method. This year the software recognized that I had another year to report and did the calculation for me.
It made my tax preparation much more enjoyable.
I have used Turbo Tax Home & Business for 7yrs and my friends use it too.
What's great about it: The system picked up the calculation from last year & computed this year's value.
What's not so great: I didn't have to get into the mathematics
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

For the past two years (possibly three) the "walk through" doesn't ask all the necessary questions until the section on review for errors. The review process will catch errors on the return but the errors were never asked in going through the step-by-step process.
There were several things on my "Farm" part of my return that were not covered in the initial questions but came up as errors in the review.
Several years ago the option to print was exactly that - you could print your return w\hen you clicked the "Print Return." Now when you click "Print Return for filing" you have to save to PDF then go into that folder and print from there. I liked how it used to be when you had the option to print for filing and then print a copy in that window. I hate the method of printing you are using now.
What's great about it: I like the home/business version
What's not so great: Initial review misses asking questions. Do not like the printing process.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)
