As painless as possible

TubroTax has listened and now it is easy to pre-load state forms, easier to navigate around your return out-of-order and quicker to find and print payment vouchers.
Minor improvements would be to print payment vouchers for both State and Federal automatically and to allow filing a return containing (non-critical) errors. One other improvement would be to show worksheet totals as you enter data for all worksheets (a few still don't show running totals).
The program still runs fine on my XP computer and I hope they continue XP support for at least a few more years.
I am happy with TurboTax Home and Business and plan on continuing to use it.
What's great about it: easy to navigate, good information displays

Gets Better Every Year

I did a Schedule F and input info myself - but if I stop and revisit- just to get to one line item - I must click through ALL the questions - dozens - that i have already answered - over and over again. Most questions it keeps what I answered but I still need to scan because a couple questions - like "materially participated" gets cleared and I am forced to answer it again. There should be an option to revisit the questions or pickup where I left off.
What's great about it: Finalization and Submissions was streamlined and faster
What's not so great: Makes you answer same questions over and over again

Lots of deductions but still paid

Program worked well this year and was easy to follow even without the video instructions of previous years. Will definately use Turbo Tax next year.
What's great about it: Step by step instructions and reminders
What's not so great: Previous year had different situations that lead us not to pay estimated installments. Lots left to pay.

Easiest Way to Do Your Taxes

To maximize your refund (minimize your tax), one has to spend time documenting and preparing data to either provide to a tax preparer or input into a tax program. Once that work is done, the actual preparation and submission is the easy part. I have been using TurboTax for many years and cannot imagine doing it any other way. I have used tax preparers twice and both times the returns were not as complete (and I was audited once), and the process was time consuming to collect and provide the data to the preparer. Doing it yourself is actually easier, and the program tracks your past returns and triggers questions based on past submissions. I cannot imagine doing our taxes any other way.
What's great about it: Ease of use, comprehensive, treatment of investments, clear, transfers data from year-to-year
What's not so great: The first time through takes a little more time to develop the basics for both current and future submissions

My 2013 Return

As a business owner I find Turbo Tax very easy to use. I have been using it for many years and will continue to do so. The guided instructions are very thorough in walking you through the process. I also enjoy performing what if scenarios and seeing instant results as to how it affects my bottom line.
What's great about it: Very easy to use
What's not so great: Fees for e-filing state returns and to deduct that fee from my return are outrageous!

Review Feature Is Great

The ease and completeness was great even for a complex return. However, An error was done by program on 8863 line #23. I checked the edit and it was correct and even re-entered the data that effected that field and the error continued.
What's great about it: Detailed reviews were allowed in different forms: Bycategory & Tax Forms
What's not so great: Couldnt fix an error by program on 8863 on tax form.
