Most items work really well and are easy to understand. Particularly like using it's deductible for in kind donation. Finding the location to enter information into form 1040 box 29 is entirely to difficult. I probably waited over an hour using on line help and then trying the results to finally locate where to put the information that was included in income on my w-2 from my S-corp. This really needs to be addressed as it has been a problem for the last 2 year.
What's great about it: Easy to use. The interviews for the most part worked well
What's not so great: 1040 Box 29 was entirely to hard to find the location to enter the amount

Right Way with Turbo Tax

I have tried other income tax return programs. Went back to store and bought Turbo Tax. No questions left unanswered. I would never use another program. Turbo Tax, all the way to the IRS.
What's great about it: 100% satisfied.! Program knows every question I need to answer!!
What's not so great: None
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Overall good.
I wasn't able to file my state return electronically - Mississippi - this year though. The state guidelines stated the need for a form on the federal side - 2106 - to match the form on the state side - 80-108. It seems the state software didn't recognize form 2106, which is included in the federal return, for my return. This discrepency prevented me from filing electronically.

I am disappointed. This is the first year I have not been able to file the state electronically.

I like to do my own taxes and I believe turbotax does a good job
What's great about it: very detailed, made me confident
What's not so great: takes a long time to get through it all
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Easy As 1...2...3...

Very easy to use. I was able to properly list cancelled debt from our mortgage loan modification and use the correct exclusion to reduce tax liability for the debt cancellation.
What's great about it: Easy access to forms.
What's not so great: No free state E-File.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Intuit has invested a lot of effort improving the software every year keeping abreast of tax law changes and highlighting changes for the taxpayer.
What's great about it: Ease of use - Well organized presentation - Integrated with IRS Pubs
What's not so great: None worth mentioning

Difficult to Amend

Works easily, but the Payment Vouchers such as 1040-V and 1040-ES can only be amended by using White-Out. Many circumstances need to amend these forms due to changes in subsequent income.
The 1040-V Payment Voucher generated for the 1040X amended return does not jibe with amount due and is incorrect.
Maryland State form needs to be able to interface with the Comptroller of Maryland's form on the official state website
What's great about it: Easy to understand
What's not so great: Impossible to amend needed Payment Vouchers

Turbo Tax is super easy and almost too easy....it walks you through with options of extra info when needed (so if you have the knowledge you're not forced to walk through the basics for beginners). Turbo knows all. They prompt you to think out more options that I know I would forget. Can't go wrong with turbo tax!
What's great about it: perfect for small businesses
What's not so great: too easy, makes me worry.....
