Will give negative reviews to anyone that asks. Others that I know have had similar problems and are extremely unhappy as I am. They also said they will not use TurboTax next year.
What's not so great: Unclear place to insert 1099-MISC that I always received in previouis years.

Disappointed

I am disappointed that TT does not support carryback or carryover of NOL. It is no doubt a complicated set of forms but that is why TT exists, too make things easier for taxpayers. I have used TT for many years and have been satisfied but this year was difficult due to a number of things. Also the ease of reporting 4684 items could be better. A spreadsheet format would help instead of repeatedly going back and forth on the worksheets. Also a control total to ensure that all items have been posted would help.
What's great about it: Familiar and good audit track. Easy flow of information details.
What's not so great: No support for form 1045 and 3805V reporting NOL and carrybacks. Not enough clarity in some explanations.

Can't imagine how you do it without Turbotax

The Detail checklists help significantly. However, you need to keep good notes and check off which check list you added certain items to. New home, home office, cars all added to my complexity of my return. However, I made it to the other side! Thanks for keeping up with all the updates.
What's great about it: The detail
What's not so great: The detail is sometimes confusing if you have a lot of items
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I moved, I bought or sold investments

I have used Turbo Tax for the better part of the last decade and have always found it to be a great program. It gets you from start to finish relatively quickly and gives you good information along the way. The more I use it, the more intuitive it is and I am able to finish that much faster. The downside is the "fix errors" feature. If you miss anything inadvertently, it asks you to fill in the information for a particular line that you have no context for or information about. When I pulled up the actual form, it did not show you the line you were trying to enter info into, but I had to search to figure out what error it was referring to. Finding the line item was no help, since I had filled all my information in via the program, I now had no context for what the line was asking for and there was no way to find specific help about it in the program. I wish it would give a little more contextual help in fixing errors, especially for those of us small business owners who aren't that adept at the financial ins and outs in the first place.
What's great about it: Straightforward and easy to understand
What's not so great: Details can get very convoluted
Pros: I had a baby

I find the customer service very helpful. I had to call in for help and found the person who helped me extremely patient and helpful. Although the wait was very long, it was late in the tax season.
What's great about it: Easy to use
What's not so great: There seem to be a glitch in the software. Sometimes information didn't take after I answered it.

TurboTax Tenacity

TurboTax is great. We have used for many years for home and small business.
Pros: Tenacious. I do not like doing taxes but the application has the right tone and keeps you moving forward without bogging down in the IRS form lingo. The app circles back to areas that need attention and will continue to circle back until resolved.
Cons: Navigation can be tedious when starting a section all over. Click, click, click until you get to the screen you want. This may be necessary. It would be nice if there was a feature to bookmark the screen without starting over.
Requested feature: With more saavy computer users and split screens, it would be nice to have the application show both the forms and the guided screens in separate windows. This may help some users understand what is being asked when viewed in the context of the IRS form. Use both sides of the brain.
What's great about it: The application kept on moving forward even if it had to skip a bit.
What's not so great: Slow startup time and update checking.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)
