Absolutely and totally worthless software!
What's great about it: I can't see ANY PROS here at all, what-so-ever!
What's not so great: Unworkable, BAD instructions, regarding this software!

Turbo Tax changes a little each year, you need to be aware of the changes in formats and process. Better to have all your information handy before starting return.
What's great about it: Step by Step thru process
What's not so great: Doesn't force you do to the return early
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Problems with Turbo Tax 2013
on April 15, 2014

This year you have introduced several new bugs into TurboTax. Instead of simply improving last year's program, each year you rewrite the program and introduce a whole lot of new bugs into the program. So this year the over ride command in the Edit menu does not work. The program has a bug in line 11 of Form 4562. At every review of the program an error was flaged on my Section 179 deduction, but the program would not allow me to fix the problem. At the very end the program would not let me do an electronic filing because I did not fix the Section 179 error. So I had to do a paper filing of the return and over-ride all the error messages.
The step-by-step to forms mode switching does not work well again this year. If I switch to forms and then back to step-by-step the progarm loses its place and makes me start the previous section all over again.
The forms section does not let me make changes in many values, and does not let me force changes in values I wish to change.
The program lost some of my supporting detail information from last year. So I was not sure how I classified certain expenses during the previous year.
The tax code is extreamly complicated. Your program provides a simplified path through the tax code, but you go too far. You must provide a way of by-passing step-by-step and work the forms, when necessary. I stay on the step-by-step 90% of the time. When I do go to the forms I need to be able to go back to step-by-step and continue where I left off. Also, I should be able to start step-by-step anywhere I wish; often I do not yet have the data to fill out the current section and need to come back to it later.
I hope you make these improvements without introducing new bugs next year.

Good, but not as simple with tougher stuff

I've used TurboTax for over 10 years now, and it continues to make most things simple.
But even with the business version, it doesn't make difficult things as easy as it should. Both with the 2012 and 2013 versions, it fails with 8 digit numbers. Dealing with spreads that expire in the money, even a 5 digit profit on an individual trade might end up with an 8 digit value as the purchase and/or selling price.
It did daily well with a small business, though could have made retirement plans more straightforward by giving more info about the plans and letting the maximize button give a value immediately instead of several screens later.
Converting a personal home to a rental was a little sketchy, especially in our situation of having the home vacant for a couple years. In the end I made the right choices, but figuring out the basis didn't give as many details as it should have.
Finally, personal deductions were a little sketchy, since you put things for both deductions and exemptions in the same area. If they were split off, and a countdown given for switching from the standard deduction to itemizing, we would have known this year to not bother putting in our donations. Instead, my wife spent 2 hrs putting them into its deductible, only for me to tell her later that this year we were using the standard deduction.
It's still pretty good, but this year I had the addition of the business and rental info, and things didn't seem as good as they should have been. With the budget that Intuit has, I'd like to see them do better here.
What's great about it: Easy things easy, and good questions on more complicated stuff
What's not so great: Fails on 8 digit numbers, not enough detail in info boxes
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

The software is very easy to use, step by step instructions. My entire family uses Turbo Tax, for personal and business taxes. It's a reputable product within the Tax Filing community. They keep me coming back.
What's great about it: Real easy to use even when doing business taxes
What's not so great: If you have to go back for self review it can be challenging
