I have used Turbo Tax for seven or eight years. I LOVE this software. I started a second business this tax year, and I was dreading adding all the particulars. It did take several hours to enter, but a lot of that was due to my own disorganization!
Overall, a truly wonderful product that just about anyone could use.

What's great about it: Easy-to-use, in "regular-person" language
What's not so great: Sometimes refers to IRS specific law names versus just explaining in plain English

5 star. Every step was self explanatory. My 13 year old son input all the information for me. I reviewed it and made slight corrections. Amazing!!!

2013 Tax Filing

I used TurboTax "Home and Business" because I just started a new business and I also do officiating as a subcontractor. The "Home and Business" software asked all the right questions and made filing my complicated tax return a breeze.
What's great about it: Turbo tax asked all the questions I thought needed to be asked. The Home and Business program made easy to file
What's not so great: None
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Turbo Tax is very simply easy and quick.

I absolutely love the fact that TurboTax shows me last years to this years comparison. It makes everything so much easier. I know I have everything and I don't have to scramble to find something I may or may not be missing. I keep great records but sometimes life happens.

Turbo Tax was in complete control of the total process for determing and completing my tax return. It made the use of the Bailey exemption very easy to use and kept my taxes to a minimum. .
What's great about it: Product was very through and comprehensive
What's not so great: seemed a little too accounting oriented
Pros: I bought or sold investments

This version has issues, but does get right answer

Really clunky on filing amendment, I spent a lot of time trying to review and see what it was doing. It told me I didn't need to amend the return even though I knew I missed a 1099 and owed. When you finally get to the point of filing, it did recognize the need, but I was about to go pull the 1040X from IRS and do it myself. Just frustrating.
This year it kept trying to have you do forms that weren't needed and then it would act like you're the idiot for trying to fill it out to get the program to move on. Obviously a common problem because it was addressed in the help menu. So why don't you fix it?
What's great about it: It was correct, just wrong messages
What's not so great: Really clunky on filing amendment
