Worked great

Turbotax got it all done for me with minimum fuss. Still, it *is* software, so there's a few quirks that were annoying, but overall quite minor. Not being able to print the "you're filed!" page for my records, and having to go to TurboTax online when there was an cryptic entry needed on a business expense form (that should have been supported with context sensitive help within the program).
I've tried others, H&R as well as TaxAct. Turbotax remains the best!
What's great about it: Quick and easy
What's not so great: Couple of annonying loops, inability to print page

I don't know a lot about taxes so if I can do this anyone can! I've used TurboTax for years and love it. It makes me sick to see people go spend a lot of money to have their taxes done. My husband used to doubt TurboTax so one year I let him take them to a firm and guess what - they matched mine!! He never questions me now!!
What's great about it: Everything
What's not so great: none
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I moved, I bought or sold investments

My Taxes

Prior to using Intuit, I would always have to decide what I needed to file my taxes. Many times, I did not get the full benefit of filing my taxes because I did not know all the things I could use for deductions, especially with my business. Turbo Tax makes me feel confident that my taxes are done correctly since they appear to double or triple check everything. While I sign up for Audit Defense each year, I have never had to use them. Just knowing that my taxes are done right without someone trying to make you cheat is enough to make me feel comfortable. Thanks Intuit. I have used you for several years and plan to continue doing so. I have also advised several of my friends to use Intuit as well.
What's great about it: Turbo Tax has helped me stay organized. As a result I am able to complete my taxes efficiently.

Expatriates need more help

This is my 6th year using Turbo Tax as an expat, and its not very user friendly. I use Turbo Tax Canada as a Canadian resident, and its great! As a USA citizen with the IRS requiring us to file even if we've earned no income in our new country of residence, this is crazy difficult to work with. I would pay triple the price to have an "expat friendly" Turbo Tax.
What's not so great: Extremely difficult to convert from non-resident american to this format

4 years of Turbo Tax

Follow all the steps! This is a great way to do your taxes. I thought it sent, but it didn't. My laptop was having problems with the Internet. It was mid May when I realized it. Called the IRS - they noted why they didn't get my return. Called Turbo Tax and they stayed on the phone with me as I got it loaded on my desk top computer and SENT to the IRS and State. The Tech Support was WONDERFUL! Thanks Rajie and Jessica !!

People were very helpful over the phone once I reached a live person. But even they had trouble getting an audit protection order through. It is kind of funny that they actually had to do the form on a pen and paper. Tech at it's best! LOL but in the end I got the protection I ordered

What's not so great: Can't order audit protection from a foreign address

Great Option...

I have used TurboTax for several years now and each year I am more confident that it's the best way to go. I have went from being a full time employee to full time student. Every year there are changes and benefits that I wouldn't know to look for if it wasn't for TurboTax. I love this program. I will continue to use it and refer my friends on a regular basis.
What's great about it: Easy To Use with a sense of relief knowing all my areas will be covered and not overlooked.
