Great prompts and details in the instructions and fields. I like the links and details of where additional information is entered.

Our home burned last year. having turbo tax from last year on the computer disc helped a lot. Most of our records were damaged or destroyed in the fire. Turbo tax was a savior because all of last years info was readily available.
What's great about it: does the calculations for you
What's not so great: Difficult to navigate back to look over previous entries.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Helped whittle down my amount due

I think Turbo Tax needs to take into account the "sharing" economy of individuals renting out houses, cars, tools etc. short term. This whole category of income/expenses is hard to adequately cover in the current version.
What's great about it: Handles the increasing complexity of my life
What's not so great: Turbo Tax did not clearly deal with AirBnB issues. Very confusing
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

Since DOMA passed we had hoped the mess of creating 2 single returns, then a married return in order to file married in our state (MA) would be alleviated. However, Turbotax still asks if you are in a same-partner(please Turbotax, really? inappropriate language? this is what i am talking about) marriage and if you click YES it lists you as being in a domestic partnership. No easy way to find this error until you plow through the forms. It should be transparent - single, now married, and it should be able to pull our single forms from last year to get the information ported for this year. Much hassle still!
What's great about it: Leads you through filing by answering questions.
What's not so great: Same partner(Turbotax doesn't like the word s*x) marriage transition not simple

After three years of paying 6 times what I paid for TurboTax, I have a return prepared in half the time, without glaring typos, and with more accuracy than my Tax "Professional" ever did. Awesome software.
What's great about it: Greater Speed and Accuracy than with my FORMER high priced Tax Guy
What's not so great: ...

I use Turbo Tax every year. I file both business and personal taxes and never have a problem!
What's great about it: easy to use, fast, accurate, affordable
What's not so great: just a couple of things not self explanatory
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I moved

Killed enormous amount of time w/software

Most of it is okay, but I find every year I use it that I get down to the end, find I need to make changes because of some innocent misunderstanding, but it takes a ton of effort to wade through the program to make a SIMPLE change.
What's not so great: Too cumbersome to work with. I might need to access one part to make a change, but have to go through tons of pages.

Small Business, Big time easy filing
on April 15, 2014

Overall, TT is easy to use. I own a small business and have been using TT for years. I like how it lets you walk through or choose right where you want to go. You can also switch from step by step to the forms to see exactly where the entry is going.
However, I don't like that when you click the back button to change something or check an entry and TT makes you answer yes/no questions again that you've already answered. This is frustrating as it only does this on some questions. ie. when going through the auto deductible section, I continually had to enter each time that yes, I was going to enter my mileage even though it remembered the odometer readings!?
Overall, I love being able to see how each entry affects the taxes owed, that it checks for errors and walks you through the entire process. I also like the TT community and help page! I will continue to use TT to file my home and business taxes.
What's great about it: Being able to switch to forms and seeing the amount you owe or refund at every entry
What's not so great: When TT makes you checkmark y/n questions that you've already entered when you click back to change/ check on an entry
