Very easy to use software, there should be a box that takes you directly to the AGI for the previous year. With everything else there this would be ideal.
What's great about it: Very easy to follow instructions.
What's not so great: At the end wasn't sure if it entered my AGI since there was one in the box .
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)
I had to use auto correct because turbo tax does not allow ten year depreciation for water craft. I then had to make list class as none to get past your editing. Your program got me audited back in 2010 and cost me $2700 plus dollars. Fix your program so your customers do not get fined.
What's great about it: Some what easy to use
What's not so great: Business depreciation not right
I've used TurboTax for many years, working my way up from the basic edition to home and business. It has simplified the process of filing taxes immensely. I used to do my taxes with a manual typewriter and a gallon on white-out. TurboTax helps uncover deductions, organizes expenses and guides you through the process, with additional, in-depth information available when you want it. Plus, efiling is quick and easy.
What's great about it: Arithmetic corrected automatically, great guidance
I still prefer to use Turbo Tax for it's ease and thoroughness (it seems that way, anyway). As I said earlier, the only place that was a bit sticky was going back to print out my state return after I had e-filed my federal return. Perhaps I missed a button, but when I found myself on the "close TurboTax" page without an option to print the remaining State return, I had to backtrack a bit and repeat part of the interview. I know I had to have missed something. However, it all worked out just fine. The TurboTax interview questions help me organize my tax information for the next run. I've used TurboTax for years and will do so for 2014.
What's great about it: As always, mostly clear to understand, straightforward and expedient
What's not so great: Just got a little confused at the end when I wanted to e-file my fed, but print out my state
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)
I originally did my return online and was not satisfied with the result which did not seem correct. I started researching tax code on my own (shoot me now), and found some other forms and extra deductions that weren't found by turbotax. Been using it for several years and thought it worked great, but the difference was almost $1500 dollars once I started investigating.
What's great about it: Quick and "easy" if you want
What's not so great: Lot's of personal research to find forms and what to file.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I moved
