TurboTax covered all the details

I use both TurboTax Business and TurboTax Home and Business to cover serveral personal and business tax returns.
I really like the step by step guidance through tricky tax territories.

Need to recognize the family members

I have Turbo Tax Home and Business as one of the returns i will be completing as a Sch C associated with it, however, I also complete my son, daughter and mother's returns with the software, all 1040EZ filers. Up front you ask my son's occupation - student - and then ask if he can be claimed as a dependent on someone else's return - yes - you then jump into the business questions (ok, he may run a lemonade stand) but then to go through the itemization questions even asking if he owns his own home - at 16 years old! You need an easy out to these areas of the program for the simple returns being done with it.
What's great about it: Free efile, completed return
What's not so great: Way to complicated for the family simple returns

Best program out there

As an accountant and tax professional (15+ years) I have experience with many different tax programs and come back to Turbo Tax every year. I have done side by side comparisons with other tax software and Turbo Tax wins every time. I have worked for some of the big name tax preparation companies and had the opportunity to do side by side comparison's with their programs also and have found that Turbo Tax has gotten me a larger refund or smaller amount due every time.
What's great about it: Ease of use, covers everything
What's not so great: None

I continue to use Turbo Tax as it has proven to be the easiest to use and understand. Directions are straightforward and the explanations serve to both inform on new changes and confirm the appropriateness of my selections. I did have a small issue with sales tax deduction as I had bought a new car but was able to go back and walk thru it. Not sure why it did not take me through it the first time when my state, Texas, does not have an income tax but I may have made an incorrect selection. Fortunately I was able to correct it and increase my return by approximately $150.
