I have been using Turbo Tax for many years and have not had any trouble using it. This year I had a little different situation and pulled money from an IRA. Problem is the system didnt catch that I entered the withholding for the distribution in two spots. Exact same number, I guess you have to make sure you look for things that dont add up. Its probably my fault for not reading the clear instructions as to what to enter where.
What's great about it: The program does look at all options available for deductions
What's not so great: The program didnt notice that I had entered tax withheld twice
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

Got all jammed up in the end...

Errors at the end drove me crazy...still not 100% sure it's out. Kept saying a zip was wrong to a University. Checked and rechecked, tweaked, and again...same stuff. Probally have an hour or two dealing with it... Still not sure. I have no idea if I'd go this route again. Good luck.

when it reviews for mistakes it shows a small window of the missing (or incorrect) information. the problem is, it doesn't show you the full form or what question goes along with this part of the form. very poor in my opinion.
What's great about it: it calculates as you answer questions
What's not so great: not clear with state e-filing; during reviews only a small window shows so you can't really see what is missing

Great except some of the forms for business miles

I had errors relating to business miles from my owned vehicle used in my business. I had to fill in the federal forms to correct errors which were not clearly covered in the interview.
What's great about it: simple and easy to complete.
What's not so great: Mileage for owned vehicle driven 100% Business

Always the best . . but this year seemed extra hard.
I had two states and had a lot of trouble splitting the income between the two . . especially Ohio.
You'd think that would be an obvious top question .. instead of just taking the total Federal Income and calculating/showing a very high tax debit and scarring me to death.
For the state forms, Turbo Tax needs to "understand them for us" . . so they can better explain what is meant by some of the archaic questions/entries.
What's great about it: smooth as ever and hits all the spots for my complex return
What's not so great: sometimes hard to get into the data to better understand the question and enter data better
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I moved
