Rental, Business and Retirement income

When you have lots of receipts, have these in order (totals) so your ready to type in the info. But, be careful, I was not able to return later to input the correct totals. Had to start a whole new return and so I lost the first several hours that was done the day before.
However, I will be better prepared for next year. I will be using Turbo Tax again.

What's great about it: Your system did not leave anything out to report.
What's not so great: Could not return and correct input once entered );

TT rocks

In nearly all cases, TT gives good guidance and good supporting information, I first starting using TT in 2010 after a paid tax provider in VA made gross errors on my return, he didn't even fill in the boxes from my W-2 form correctly, lost so much time fixing those errors decided it was better to do things myself. Along the way, found that TT and the on line forum was able to answer all my questions with a high degree of confidence.
What's great about it: the way TT shows my progress and expected refunds as I work through the return
What's not so great: the section on use of a vehicle for business purposes, I traded in a vehicle this year and some items were confusing.

Nice program! I like the easy, no-nonsense manner in which it explains things. This is complicated stuff and understanding all the changes that happen year-after-year can strain your brain. But with this TurboTax program, I'm able to wrap my brain around some things that normally would confuse me.
The price is right and in a crunch, you can get your return done on time and accurately. I had some personal reasons for almost having to get an extension. I didn't think I'd make it on time, but things fell into place on the paperwork side, then TurboTax came to the rescue by guiding me through the details.
I feel much better now! Thanks to this fine program!
What's great about it: Easy to use, simple, explains tax info that's tough to understand
What's not so great: None
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Turbo Tax handled my sole proprietership and my spouse's multilevel marketing income stepping us through like a samurai warrior teaching forms.
Even with the minor issue I had where I thought I would deduct auto expenses with the business, but ended up not doing so, all that happened was in the validation phase, it reported a field from that form missing, and I went into the forms mode and deleted the form.
I definitely recommend this software.

What's great about it: handled personal plus business income from one sole proprietership plus income from another multilevel marketing.
What's not so great: didn't autodelete a form that I didn't end up using (auto expense) but did give warning

Overall a good product but it could use better sync with prior year form K-1 1065 information.
What's great about it: Easy Schedule C
What's not so great: not so easy with form 1065s especially for prior year information.

A mixed picture

I found the guided process of entering information straightforward enough. I was disappointed in the lack of background information included in the product--not even the basic IRS instructions were incorporated.
Also, I looked for a calculator to estimate the effect on my 2014 taxes of an increase in my 401k contributions, and there was none to be had.

Absolutely Necessary

An absolutely necessary tool for filing of taxes. I have business and personal use and would not be able to adequately address all the questions that arise when filing. TurboTax makes life easy. I almost look forward to filing.
What's great about it: Asks questions that I had no clue regarding
