Super In Person Support

Overall it TT was great. It definitely helped me with the hassle of what forms exactly do I need to fill out. Special thanks to online/in person support where I did screen share. It helps me explain to them where exactly I got hang up. They were able to pinpoint where I needed to go to solve the issue. On top of that, they did not leave me until the issue that I called was resolve. I was able to e-file. One suggestion I`d like to make is to return that smal screen where I would know where am I in the tax preparation process. At one point, when i could not get the answers I needed, it felt like that I was forwever in the Turbo Tax process.
What's great about it: I like the screen share portion. Shared the screen with TT expert shortened the time it took me to explain why I`m stuck
What's not so great: Not knowing the status of my tax prepration. The old form with small screen to let you know where you are will help.

Small business owner (sole proprietor) and have used T Tax Home and Business for 10 yrs without program problems. Everything is so complete and understandable that T Tax help has been used only one time and it resolved my problem promptly.
What's great about it: Leads one through all complexity. Doesn't waste time duplicating data entries. Enter once and it goes everwhere needed
What's not so great: Everything has to be downloaded and updated. Find a way so I can just buy a program and go.

Great until Filing Time

This rejection error doesn't make any sense, it rejected because my payment date wasn't the deadline. Though I submitted by the deadline, it waited a full day to tell me that one digit on the w2 was wrong. Then it got stuck in the endless loop of payment date can't be past due date, which it freaking has to be since it was rejected after the due date.
WHAT THE HECK DOES THIS MEAN?
"Your Federal Return Has Been Rejected
FPYMT-072-01 - If the return is received on or before the due date of the return, then the Requested Payment Date must be on the due date or before the due date."

What's great about it: the wizards are always clean and organized
What's not so great: E-File rejected for unknown reasons and didn't tell me until after deadline

works much better if you start at the beginning and go alll the way through without stopping. if you skip around you get some funky questions from the program that you already answered but it didnt keep you answers correctly.
What's great about it: fast and seems to explore all possibilities
What's not so great: if you go back in to change something the program sometime defaults to things that dont apply to you

Even the advice from customer service was awesome when I had specific questions. They were very helpful.

Code FPYMT-072-01 Cost me money

I have been using Turbo Tax for 9 years now. Great product, but you let me down this year. I owed a good bit of money to Uncle Sam and I submitted my return and payment late on 4/15. Waking up in the morning seeing an error bothered me but I quickly corectted the error and resubmitted on the morning of 4/16. Later on 4/16 I get the FPYMT-072-01 code and asked to fix my return. I try to fix the date and then later I get the same rejection. Thank God I googled and found the fix. No telling what my penalities would be if I kept trying to fix the date or had to go and mail in my return because Turbo Tax didn't work. I think I want my money back for this years use of Turbotax!
What's great about it: Great, user friendly product
What's not so great: FPYMT-072-01 -My tax return was submitted late and TT didn't provide accurate or timely ways to remediate the problem.

Expert Electrical Engineer used Turbox since 1985

I like being able to install at three locations (Work, Home desktop & Home laptop. convient when only filing with the free state (used NJ). This year I needed to purchase a second state (DE). I couldnt figure out how to install 2nd state (DE) on a different computer. As usual, my taxes were more complicated than thought and when working late one night on TurboTax, I thought I may have accidently purchased the 2nd state (DE) two times.
I would love to provide more detail to help improve. Please send me a notice. I have experience in reviewing of use of various computer programs I use at work related to my experience preparing design engineering of electrical power distribution in industrial, chemical, petrochemical facilities. I am an electrical power system engineer. I majored on electronics, power systems & computer programing. In my early years of working utilized my experience in computer programing to develope databases using Dbase and compiled using Clipper. The databases were used to performed calculations linked to other programs to automate the generation of Computer Aided Drawings (CAD). I have used many programs to assist me with my profession. TurboTax continues to improve every year and in my opinion is the leader in the industry for people who prefer understand the aspects of taxes and ways to minimize amount of taxes paid. The majority of work involving preparation of tax returns involves collecting the data for computer input (same as engineering services) and to understand the results one must have gone through all the steps of entering the data and to understand what the results should be.
I give Turbotax an A++ grade. keep up the good work!

What's not so great: Can not access calculator when adding support details
