Just wanted to let you know that in the past, I've never done the School Property Tax Credit or Homestead Credit because I didn't think I could since I was a renter. Thanks for helping me out!
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Turbo Tax takes the headache out of tax preparation. The step-by-step easy step process makes perfect sense and is flexible enough to allow the user to go back and forth as documents are located and information is available to enter. I would not be able to prepare my taxes without this product.
What's great about it: Easy! Easy to follow. Easy to understand. Save files. Updates from last year's information
Pros: I bought or sold investments

I love TurboTax and Saved $350

I was skeptical of using TT just because I had always used a CPA to maximize my deductions. Last year, I attempted TT but just felt like I better not in case I goofed. So this year, I purchased the Home and Business. I was pleasantly surprised when it asked me tons and tons of questions; questions my CPA never, ever asked me. I was not only able to maximize my refunds, but I got money back! WOW!!!! I wished I had used it earlier and I will help my children use it when they need to file. I have my own business, own a rental and a primary home. Who knew I didn't need a CPA!
What's great about it: I knew info my CPA didn't know
What's not so great: It didn't file the return when I thought it did. Luckily I didn't owe
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Had to research a common deduction on my own

When doing the Home Mortgage Interest deduction for Schedule A, Turbo Tax mentioned that Home Equity Debt is limited to $100,000 but does not compute the amount for you. I was simply instructed to reference Publication 936 and figure it out myself and enter the amount from the worksheet into TurboTax. That worksheet should be included in TurboTax.
What's great about it: Fairly easy to use.
What's not so great: No computation of Home Equity Dept Deduction Limitation
