How to learn to further hate income taxes.

While I do appreciate how turbotax helps you figure out where to put things, unfortunately it's an epic fail for me this year. My 2012 return was filed late and as a result, Efile has failed 4 times for me already. Reason? apparently Turbotax automatically puts the prior year AGI in the efile and you CAN'T OVERRIDE it, but the IRS phone site tells me that I should be putting "0" in there. It also seems to indicate that I don't NEED an efile pin...
The muddled "help" is no help. Sigh. In fact, I suspect if I hadn't used Turbotax this year, I wouldn't be in this pickle!
What's not so great: In an apparent attempt to help, turbotax fails

The program is very good and seems to be getting more intuitive. The process for importing income sources could be expanded.
What's great about it: Gets better each year
What's not so great: Need to improve test scenario ease of use for comparison
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Have used TurboTax for years and it gets better and easier each year. I feel very confident that this software helps me organize all relevant documents and find all deductions.
Highly recommended!!

What's not so great: given what it does, I have no complaints

one glitch

i had federal wages that were not state wages (severance) and the program would not allow me to leave the state section blank and then transferred the wages to my state return even though the box for the actual wage amount was blank.
What's great about it: 99% of the program
What's not so great: one small glitch in w-2
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

Requested updates to program

I would like to request that references be input into the help sections throughout the software. When you are working on a specific schedule, there should be references to the previous year tax return line number. So for example, if you are looking up a NOL, where would you expect to find this on the previous tax return? This would help preparing the tax return much faster. There are times where carryover losses do not come across to the current year tax return and you have to reference the prior years tax return. It would be helpful to know what line item and what schedule you will find these numbers for the current tax return. Incorporating this information would put Turbo Tax at 5 stars.
Here is another thing, when doing the review, I am a repeat customer so my user name is preventing me form using it again. This makes no sense. I should be allowed to reuse my user name.
What's great about it: By far, Turbo Tax is the best software on the market to do your taxes. Ever since Intuit purchased Lacert, TT is great.
What's not so great: Need to have references to line items on the tax return for previous year in the help descriptions for topics
Pros: I bought or sold investments
