Preaching to the choir......

I have been using the Turbo Tax products for a long time....LOVE how each year it becomes easier and easier! My situation changed a few years ago....I moved to a different state, due to a job transfer and left my grown children behind to 'mind' my home. I also started a new venture that became a new business...with each step forward upgraded Turbo Tax products were available to meet my growing needs. Thanks!
We purchased the most expensive version of Turbo Tax (Business Edition) and were extremely disappointed with the results. In fact, I honestly believe half of our cost for the program should be refunded.
1. We used Turbo Tax Deluxe for our 2012 return, yet this year's version did not import all the information.
2. Vehicle information for license plate taxes was not imported at all.
3. IRA contribution of $3495 was disallowed by Turbo Tax saying I was covered by some plan as part of my employment. However, I was employed as a Part Time employee and had no benefits what-so-ever. I could not get past this obstacle so I made have lost over $400 in my total tax return!!!
4. Because some of the business income came from 1099-Misc forms and the remainder was from a W-2 form, the tax program did not have the option to adequately put these 2 together as part of the same business. The financial impact of the error is unknown.
5. The program "locked-up" after all expenses were loaded. At the "Continue" button the program would not go forward. We had to go to the top menu and navigate ahead of this obstacle.
6. The comparison summary at the end between 2012 and 2013 was completely inaccurate in terms of 2012 information causing caution alerts during the review process because of huge "perceived" discrepancies between 2012 information and 2013 information.
7. PIN requirements at the end required for filing, were not supplied. We had PINs from previous years. Instead we had a choice of questions to answer. Instead of answering these questions, we located last year's PINs and it both cases it said they were accurate and moved forward. My point is the program had access to the PINs used in previous Turbo Tax submissions to the IRS, but refused to supply them.
9. Several times the program said "Information not available at this time" or words to that affect. It never suggested checking for updates until the very end just before filing the return.
All-in-all we could have done as well or better with Turbo Tax Deluxe. Previous editions of Turbo Tax have worked better than this. This program was only "half-baked" when we received it. As stated in the beginning, we should get at least half our money back for the frustration caused and constantly reaccomplishing some of the entries.
