Overall very good! You need to fix the entry process for K-1's in an IRA or let people know that they do not need to enter them.
What's great about it: Walks you through your tax situation and gives some good explainations!
What's not so great: Some of the questions are ambiguous or unclear

Made my life EASY

This was my first time at using TurboTax, after having been an H&R Block user for many years. I thought TurboTax was more user-friendly that the other and it was very thorough. I am super pleased with the software and the ease of completing my tax returns. It's not so scary anymore! :-)
What's great about it: Easy detailed instructions, left no stone unturned.
What's not so great: When failed the 'review' with errors, wasn't sure what it was telling me I needed to do. No detailed instructions there.

i am self employed and not very clear where to put the 20 % profit sharing or allowing that breakdown. i ultimately put it in employer profit sharing. also when to check maximum contribution and to uncheck it. i finally unchecked it to take a lesser contribution as it was generating an excessive contribution to rothira so i manually put it in myself which cleared the form . more help in this area would be beneficial. i spend a lot of time here. even asked a cpa and they really dont use turbo but they advised to stay with the 23K.
What's great about it: did give 17500 and catchup 5500 for 401k
What's not so great: not clear about profit sharing or if should put it in the sep
Pros: I bought or sold investments

While doing my taxes, I was kicked out twice at the end of my return. First time it happened when I wanted to check errors. After that I could only get back to the beginning of my return ! The second time around after looking at my forms on the screen 1040 etc, I was not able to get back to the page which I left with all my final calculations. So, after entering everything for the THIRD time, i opted not to e-file and send all in the mail.
What's great about it: did it myself
What's not so great: explanations were not good enough

Colorado State Tax
on October 11, 2014

I claimed a $300 Colorado State Tax Credit for Long Term Care Insurance Premiums that I paid. The Colorado return within TurboTax shows the tax credit and the resulting taxes owed. However, the return received by the State of Colorado does NOT show the credit and is indicating that I owe $300. Why the State Return in TurboTax does not match the return filed with the state is causing additional penalties and interest to be added to the amount in error. NOT GOOD. I cannot figure out how to rectify this discrepancy.
What's not so great: Errors in State Tax Return Filed with Colorado

Tax process 2013

Mostly this is a good package. I have used it for several years now and always managed to get through the sometimes complicated details. I would NEVER do my taxes the paper and pencil way again, with this being available! However, there are some places where the help information could be more complete or comprehensive. Also, there are some spots in the step-by-step process where it is not made clear that it will cover something until several steps past where the topic appeared; for example, at the end of the tax return preparation it shows a screen overview of the final steps to do before filing. One is to print the return for review. But when I clicked on this, it just brought me to an explanation of why, and NOT to the print menu... So, I printed it out, at that point, from the FORMS tab---only to find , several steps onward, that a screen for printing the forms appears anyway. There were a number of these kind of things along the way, where a item seemed to not be covered and then was, unexpectedly, some screens AFTER its topic appeared. mostly this was minor, but frustrating.
What's great about it: Made it a lot easier to cover all the details, and helped me to not forget anything
What's not so great: Some help information does not cover all details, and a few explanations were unclear.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)
