I needed to prepare 1096/1099 for 30 different companies. Each time I needed to enter the same contact info for myself as well as info for our accountants that receive 1099's from each of the different companies. It seemed like the program should "recall" the information (fein, address, telephone, etc) once the name of a company is entered. it seemed like an unnecessary burden to type the same info 30 different times.
What's not so great: needs to recall names and info
I have used Turbo Tax for many years, and it keeps improving. I find it easy to follow, and feel very comfortable doing my personal and business taxes on it.
What's great about it: It walks me through everything
Date shown for Fed repairs was 12/31/13 and actual date was 1/22/14. Help line needs to be more aware and display a statement that change cannot be made if dependent on upcoming Fed modifications.
What's great about it: Step-by-Step
What's not so great: Repairs waiting on Fed Changes
After 2+ plus hours with various Customer Service personnel (both on-line chat & telephone assistance), the problem was finally resolved. Turbo Tax was including a spousal Foreign Earned Income Exclusion Form 2555-S even though during the entire interview process it was indicated that ONLY mine was foreign earned income. It automatically included this unnecessary Form 2555-S without ever indicating in the error messages that this spousal form was the problem!
What's great about it: Easy to use for basic information
What's not so great: Extremely cumbersome when foreign income is included
