I have been using Turbotax for several years and have not been disappointed in the process and the excellent hand walking process.
Only thing as I am using a iMac, I would like to be able to use a calculator to enter a series of numbers and then transfer to the line on the form without having to do a cut and paste. I understand that the PC version does this, so this is just related to the MAC version .
What's great about it: Excellent process being able to enter details
What's not so great: Would like a calculator on the Mac to be able to transfer data
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)
I loved Turbo Tax, it is very easy to use and it is definitively very user friendly. First time using it, I'm going to use again next year. Thanks for an outstanding product.
What's great about it: Outstanding tax software
What's not so great: no cons
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)
I was not able to use the online tool for creating and filing 1099s, so I tried the manual version. It has no means to print individual 1099 pdf files to email to my subs, or to send to the IRS.
I love Turbo Tax. It makes filing small business returns and personal returns easy and fast. It has great reminders to help me get the maximum refund. The Home and Business version is worth every penny. Saved me hundreds of dollars and several hours of time over using an accountant.
What's great about it: Simple to use, fast, efficient and trustworthy
Every year you send me the 'Premier' or 'Deluxe' edition of TurboTax and bill me without my authorization.
The very first deadline of the tax season is Jan 31, for writing 1099's.
Problem is you cannot write 1099's until you upgrade to 'Home & Business'. Unfortunately, the H&B upgrade option is buried in the middle of the program, so you have to wade half way through the program logic to get to the upgrade option. Then ounce you have upgraded you have to go back and start a NEW return Finally, at that point, you get the option to access the W-2/1099 Reporter.
What's not so great: W-2/1099 Reporter always requires upgrade
