Great service
on January 16, 2014

Have used since at least 2003 and have loved how easy it is to use. Love the worksheets, the pop-ups, bookmark system. I've purchased the Audit Defense several times and have had your CPAs review my returns a couple times, too. Everyone's been professional, but not stuffy, which is great. Had to purchase the Audit Defense by phone today, and the poor customer service person had a heck of a time with the new system. We've been on the phone for an hour, she's had her supervisor assist, and the problem is the computer system. Slow. Froze up several times. Information not carried over. My experience with her was great, but what IT gave her to work with made TurboTax as a whole look bad. You guys should fix that problem.
What's great about it: Easy to use/Customer Service Rocks
What's not so great: TurboTax Computer System Changeover Stinks

Quirky

Doing schedule C it didn't ask for car and truck expenses and on error check it was really awkward as it asked for answers to questions without referencing what the answers were for. If I was new to Turbo Tax i would probably have to go elsewhere. And still after using it for 20 years or however long they have been selling it i am not too confident upon the results,,,,,,maybe try another program next year.
What's great about it: Quick
What's not so great: Not sure how accurate it is

Preparing W-2's and 1099's at Y/E Using Turbo Tax
on January 14, 2014
Posted by: DANWALSH
I purchased Turbo Tax Home & Business software to help me prepare W-2's for my employees and 1099's for my vendors who are independent contractors. I have been using Turbo Tax to prepare my personal taxes for many years and I knew that the software is very user friendly. I am very glad that I made the choice, as it allowed me to prepare all the forms and file my returns in two days.
I would recommend this software to any and all small businesses. It is a great time and money saver.
What's great about it: Easy to use. Turbo Tax review insures no errors
What's not so great: None
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

More proofing could be done in line item entry. Some useless steps before rerunning error analysis.
Result has passed auditors inspection
What's great about it: good step by step
What's not so great: explanations short and limited

1099 prep sucks
on January 12, 2014
Posted by: Consternated
The program walked me through the completion of about 1/4 the info needed for this form. I kept having to get stuck with error checks in order to input the next bit of info, then again, then again. How hard can it be to just step through the program fully in the beginning?
Also, why didn't TT download this background information from the 2012 version in my computer?
What's great about it: That 1099 prep is available. That there were error checks.
What's not so great: The "errors" were just asking info the program didn't ask for first.
