Error check doe not recognize that Pastor's sometimes have withholdings without having wages. tips, or other compensation. All their salary may be in business expense and/or parsonage allowance.
What's great about it: Like the carry foeward of personal information. Forms easy to navagate.
It is so easy to enter all information for preparation of W-2's each year for all employees. And the reconciliation worksheets are easy to work with to compare input to actual payroll for the year to ensure accuracy of W-2's. The best part, employees get their W-2 forms early, before they have to start asking when they will be issued!! So everyone is happy.
What's great about it: Easy to enter all required information and check for accuracy
What's not so great: Non
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)
The pros far outweigh the cons. This year, I had to file a W-2 for our nanny who only worked for us one month in 2013 but worked for us for several months in 2012. This year she didn't work long enough to require that we pay social security, but last year she did. The interview didn't make it clear that we would not have to pay this year. I had to figure that out myself.
What's great about it: Easy to use. Love the interview format.
What's not so great: Had the occasional glitch that caused me trouble
Makes working through most details much more straight forward than doing them by hand. I really appreciate they give me the option to do the W2s on my PC instead of in the cloud somewhere. I only wish some of the less common forms (like the schedule H "nanny taxes" and state forms) explained vauge things a little better, but I know it would have to cost more that way would I wouldn't want either.
What's great about it: Quicker than by hand
What's not so great: Not lots of details sometimes.
