Good Tax Time

I have been using turbotax for a long time. And you keep improving on an excellent program. And it beats paying out hundred of dollars to tax services.

Updates should come first.

Had an uneasy feeling during the entire data gathering process because the product did not access updates prior to entering data.
What's great about it: Quick and easy.
What's not so great: Updates loaded after all data was entered.

I've used TurboTax for a few years and find it very easy to do. I used to be capable of doing and filing a paper copy but some of the worksheets are insane and I have no clue what I'm doing on them. I appreciate TurboTax doing all those hairy calculations and providing the bottom line.

The latest edition of Turbo Tax worked exactly as I expected. It is easy to use and gets the job done quickly and efficiently.
What's great about it: Few people do a user interface as well as Intuit
What's not so great: Nothing Intuit could do anything about

Rated excellent, but with following comments:
(1) OPM 1099R Distr Code (Box 7) contains "7-NONDISABILITY". Your option is "7-Normal Distribution". Tax computation doesn't change, but confusing.
#2# OPM 1099R was obviously for an annuity/pension, but I was required to answer questions about RMD after entering data.
#3# OPM 1099R has "UNKNOWN" for Taxable Amount in Box 2a, but TurboTax allows only numerical entry, but instructions state to enter info exactly as on the form, which can't be done. The software later claims that none of the distribution is taxable, but the indicated refund amount doesn't reflect that assertion. I entered the taxable amount later and all was well.
#4# Would like to have option to save or print the "Your Returns Have Been Sent" window.

Thanks for your thoroughness and attention to detail. I'm too old to deal with the insane complexity of the tax code without help.
