Responsible Taxpaying

TurboTax is the easiest way to file your tax responsibly, fairly and simply. Saved me about a week of actual time, and a month of procrastination. Auto data load from previous years is: comforting, time saving, assures accuracy and is so convenient. There is no better way - AND FOR ME - NO OTHER WAY.
What's great about it: Assures fair tax with max return
What's not so great: Don't know details of tax law or calculations.

Very well pleased with my Turbo Tax Software

Overall I am very pleased the the Turbo Tax programs. I have used it sense 1997 and have had no issues.
What's great about it: Very well layed out and easy to input data. The explanation of detals was easy to follow and understand.
What's not so great: None

turbo tax review

I have always liked turbo tax. I love how it will ask you questions and guide you. This year we sold an inherited home and turbo tax let me down - it took a lot of detective work to figure out where to put that data. This piece definitely needs to be reworked!
What's great about it: I liked being able to download data
What's not so great: shortcomings when it came to the sale of a second home

Unhappy with changes

The change in charitable deductions was disappointing. I liked last years feature where you could assign a cost to clothing donations based on the condition of the item. Also, No explanation or example of column D on Federal Carryover worksheet-1 help section. I bought the basic Turbo tax this year because I use my State's website to File. I thought the Deluxe version purchased last year was more than I needed. I think I will go back to Deluxe version next year.

Experience was good - May upgrade next year

I have used Turbo Tax for the past 10 years. I find it easy to use. I find that I like the Deluxe version as it is easier to use with stocks, interest, dividends and mutual funds. Our state doesn't have a state tax so I don't need the combined version.
I highly recommend Turbo Tax. Also, I am retired and in my mid 70's and it's still easy to use.

What's great about it: East to use. Prior year information upgraded automatically which makes a good guide line for entering current year data
What's not so great: I bought the Basic this year vs the Deluxe w/o state filing. I think the Deluxe was a little more helpful.

HIdden costs

This program would be alright if it wasnt for the hidden fees that you don't know about until you try to file for the state. First you pay for the program and then you pay for it to figure the state tax then another charge to file the state. If I would have known that I would have never bought the program.
What's great about it: Program was easy to use
What's not so great: Hidden fees not shown on the box
