After completing my taxes on Turbo Tax I took it to a Tax Professional for review. I in the light that I had lost my wife during the year and had some questions about it. He reviewed it and said it looked good. He is retiring this year from doing tax work and was wondering what I had used to file my taxes. It appears thatyou will have another user next year.
What's great about it: The Tax Program is very easy to work with.

For the first time, my previous year totals did not appear on this year's work sheets. We gave an in-kind donation to the community college and I did not find any place to input the appraised amount which the college accepted for the donation. It kept zeroing out.
What's great about it: Always appreciate Turbo Tax for its ease in filing our taxes.
What's not so great: Found I needed some additional information and not sure how to get it.

When I have a problem, I can't find an answer. I see when I looked at the number of "this site was helpful" that the vast majority of users found the site unhelpful.
I don't find the site user friendly. I need to see the forms filled in without all of the Turbo Tax notations. I need to save the forms on my computer after they are filled in as I have printed them to file; can't do.
Sometimes Turbo Tax makes a mistake (like adding information from another family member's taxes). Not easy to fix.
What's great about it: imported info from broker, did the math
What's not so great: No way to see forms without Turbo Tax notations,

Ive used Turbo Tax for years now. I like being able to go back and reprint previous years when I need them. It pulls all my info from previous years so I don't have to search for it. This year, I'm enjoying the military edition which caters to my needs as a service member. Overall, I have no plans to switch to another product.
What's great about it: Takes you through everything so you don't have to think. Just input the numbers
What's not so great: Can be lengthy but its thorough

Small problem it assumes if you had something on last years return then you must have it this year. It keeps asking you to enter data for it.
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Since I have been a tax counselor for AARP for 18 years, I find many of your "features" to be cumbersome. Why don't you automatically switch to summary pages for items such as dividends, interest, and charities. Having to fill in a separate input sheet for every detail is ridiculous....maybe offer a choice between novice and experienced preparer.
I can see where the detail might be advantageous for a first-timer, but I've used your product for about 15 years, and find that each subsequent year requires more time due to your simplification.
What's great about it: reasonably straight forward
What's not so great: Too much detail in construction. How about a scratchpad for charities?
