Excellent Except for One Shortcoming

I receive a 1040-MISC each year for less than $600 that is NOT work related, yet when I answer "Yes" to the question "Do you plan on getting nore of this same type of income regularly?" (which is true), the TurboTax Step-by-Step process wants me to "Describe the type of work". The income on the 1040-MISC is not for any type of work, but, rather, is for a benefit that I receive from the company from which I retired. To receive this benefit each year I must apply for it. I know that others experience this same problem as there are several entries in the TurboTax AnswerXchange asking how to handle it. One of these entries is over a year old. TurboTax should address this problem.
What's great about it: Gives Me the Flexibility to Use both Step-by-Step and the Forms View
What's not so great: Doesn't Correctly Handle the Entry of my 1040-MISC
Pros: I moved, I bought or sold investments

I have used TurboTax for many years, the Deluxe edition when I was working, and after I retired and my income and deductions were more limited I switched to the Basic edition. Each met my needs at the time. I rely on the transfer of data from the prior year to save re-entry of personal information, and a record of sources of income and deductions to help me remember. In recent years the option of using E-file has simplified the process, and if I have a refund, I can direct deposit into my band. This a great product.
What's great about it: Walks me through the process, copies personal information from previous year,.
What's not so great: No cons.

I just prepared an amended return. When I printed the reports the first page says I owe $1,341. I believe this is correct, BUT the second page, which thanked me for using TurboTax, says my refund is $1,341.
Just to be on the safe side I think I send a check for +/- $1,341.
What's great about it: Easy to used.
What's not so great: Confused

I have been using Turbo Tax for about 10 years. I have tried another program but it was more difficult to use so before finishing that year I back to TurboTax. I don't experiment anymore.
What's great about it: Year after year Turbo Tax gets easier to use.
What's not so great: None

Good stuff, with annoying bits

I've used Turbotax for several years now, and will use it again! I find it generally easy to use, but the new structure adds an additional screen to click through before I can get to the menu that lets me go directly to the section I need.
Once I'm there, I'm a little annoyed that I have to keep answering basic questions, instead of being able to enter my data right away. Most of these answers don't change, so it would be nice not to have to review them. So it could be more streamlined for experienced users.
Maybe the next version would have that as an option?
What's great about it: easy to use, fills out the worksheets, asks questions to be sure you've entered all the info!
What's not so great: offers upgrades every time, even if you didn't want it last time either; hard to enter just one or two vital details

Stop asking about State
on March 24, 2014

My state taxes are extremely simple. I don't want to use Turbo Tax to do them as it is way too expensive. It is very annoying to be asked over and over again if I'm sure I don't want to use TurboTax.
What's great about it: Data entry is easy
What's not so great: State tax
