fast and easy to understand - missed a key element - skipped the 1099 entirely, glossed over them when it finished the W-2s instead of asking about the import it had just finished - if I was not familiar with the program and the forms I wouldn't know where to place them
What's great about it: quick and simple
What's not so great: missed key steps
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)
This is a good product, which we have been using for years and years. It sure beats doing taxes by hand, and is way cheaper than using a tax preparation service. The only real downsides are a lack of documentation on a few points where we got confused, the constant prompts to upgrade to a more expensive version of TurboTax, and having to go through the same battery of questions every time we want to review a detail that we had already put in.
What's great about it: Accurate returns, most forms straightforward
What's not so great: Repeated prompts to upgrade, clumsy review of already entered data
I found the system easy but did have some issues with running some of the needed information. When trying to complete the state forms, I had to contact customer support twice and both times, I got great help.
What's great about it: Got great customer service when I needed help.
What's not so great: Had trouble with internet chose for everything to work.
