Seems to skip Interest and Dividends paid as additional income.
What's great about it: Convenient
What's not so great: Did not locate 2012 Return; could not retrieve W-2

Fairly painless

I use Turbo Tax because it makes the process fairly painless, allows me to compare different options - "What if I increased my IRA contributions?" and I am confident of the current updates. Also, I can Efile without additional charge, and make arrangements for payment when needed. I am a little piqued that I am prompted multiple times for a state return, even though I live in Florida (no state income tax - yet!) I should be able to indicate I have no rental or business income and be done with it. Over all, a small complaint. Several of my friends have moved on to 'freeware' for filing, but so far the cost does not out weigh the comfort level I get with Turbo Tax, as I have used it for many years now.
What's great about it: Allows me to compare different options
What's not so great: keeps asking about a state return - I live in Florida!

I don't know why everyone of the "99%" doesn't use Turbo Tax.

My family has used this program for as long as I can remember and we have never had any problems with it. It does a great job at letting the average American step their way through their taxes without having to go through the trouble of hiring an outside hand. It was straight forward and very easy to understand. I sometimes get held up on some of the legal/tax language that is used throughout much of the tax process, but TurboTax steps you through everything that applies to you and simplifies the language so it can be understood. The only trouble I had this year was trying to fill out some of the more complicated partnership/business type questions, but I'm sure it's only because I'm not familiar with much of the business world. A great program and I would recommend it to anyone.
What's great about it: most steps were laid out for you, the legal and tax lingo was also cut back and dumbed down
What's not so great: partnership legal/tax lingo was still amped up and left me unsure which applied to me
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I moved, I bought or sold investments

I hate having to do extra works for a "rebate" of the free state filing. Only one star until this goes away.
What's great about it: easy to use
What's not so great: rebate for state filing

Would like to see easier entry for capital gains and distributions. Have used TT for several years and I would buy again.
What's great about it: Great calcs and step by step process
What's not so great: Should be easier to enter multiple entries
Pros: I bought or sold investments

First time on Mac after years of PC

It would be much better if the windows were capable of using the command + (the normal way to magnify html display). Some of the print was very small and hard to read on a Mac.
Aside from that, I noticed there were a few questions missing from past years. Did you make any large purchases that would qualify for the state/local tax deductions. The questions for state and local are either for you to a) use the estimate or b) enter EVERYTHING.
There should have been option c) use the estimate + specific items. These are the items that go into Schedule A line 5.
What's great about it: I still feel that Turbo Tax is a good product
What's not so great: small font can't increase window size with command +
Pros: I bought or sold investments
