The Basic Package

The basic product was very easy to use and based on my answers found me other sections to run which got me even more money back.
What's great about it: Easy of use
What's not so great: There was a surprise filing fee for Illinois

2013 Taxes

What's not so great: did a lot of work on sales tax since we finished building a house last year and it didn't help

"Painless"

I've used other forms of tax preparations, but I've found that Turbo Tax is by far the simplest, fastest, and affordable tax tool out there on the market for the average tax payer wanting an option of a very basic, straight forward solution to anyone's tax needs.
I've used this format for several years now, and I would gladly recommend it to anyone preparing their annual taxes. Great tax alternative!

What's great about it: Quick, simple, affordable, and accurate tax format.
What's not so great: None

116 form and the upgrade charges

I'm not sure if I understood how to do the 116 form. I shouldn't have to upgrade just to get this right. I'm a bit offended by the upgrades as I didn't expect that with my subscription. I guess I didn't know you had made this change. I'm thinking about all of this and not sure how I feel about it. for one thing I can't remember what I paid in the first place and then getting hit with the new money just to get the form right???? Also the audit check is gone. that was helpful, but again I'm not sure what I paid so mauybe I should have upgraded. Legt me in the lurch for the first time ever. Otherwise the product is exceptional.
What's great about it: I have been a Turbo Tax customer for years
What's not so great: I got confused on the correction for form 116 and the new charges

Tax 2013(2014)

Not as used friendly as previous years.
Unstable, glitchy.
Had 6 separate software updates in a 4 day span.
Final update said it was ready to file via "Electronic Filing", but would not allow transmit because it said I needed another update.
But, when I checked for updates, it said none available….so, caught in a continuous loop.

What's great about it: Easy to use, but more software glitches than last year.
What's not so great: Kept needing to update, but would not allow usage after about 6th update became unstable.

Tax Program does not work

E-file fails and instructs me to "check for updates", but then program tells me there are no updates, and continues to fail e-file.
Have used Turbo tax before, but will not use it again.
What's great about it: none when program will not work
What's not so great: Program does not e-file

Some of the instructions on donations are not clear. I found I was putting all of them on one form when I needed another form for each one.
What's great about it: Took me through very well
What's not so great: A little confusing, but that's not your fault. It's the IRS.
