I hate having to do extra works for a "rebate" of the free state filing. Only one star until this goes away.
What's great about it: easy to use
What's not so great: rebate for state filing

Good But Not Great

Would like to see easier entry for capital gains and distributions. Have used TT for several years and I would buy again.
What's great about it: Great calcs and step by step process
What's not so great: Should be easier to enter multiple entries
Pros: I bought or sold investments

First time on Mac after years of PC

It would be much better if the windows were capable of using the command + (the normal way to magnify html display).
Some of the print was very small and hard to read on a Mac.
Aside from that, I noticed there were a few questions missing from past years.
Did you make any large purchases that would qualify for the state/local tax deductions. The questions for state and local are either for you to
a) use the estimate
or b) enter EVERYTHING.
There should have been option c) use the estimate + specific items. These are the items that go into Schedule A line 5.
What's great about it: I still feel that Turbo Tax is a good product
What's not so great: small font can't increase window size with command +
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Please alphabetize the contributions entries once you have completed the entry of the $ dollar amounts for the 501c3/organizations - or the option to alphabetize them. We use Quicken for our home transaction which does alphabetize the organizations so the capability appears to be readily available to you.
Thank You,
Linda Davies

This is a pretty good product, especially for my first time doing taxes. Made everything really easy. My only qualm is whether the upgraded versions are necessary, It might be nice to have an explicit trial period offer.
What's great about it: Easy To Use, Detailed Walkthroughs
What's not so great: Upgrades make me nervous that I might have missed something

What's great about it: Step by step instructions and guidance
What's not so great: None

Took approx 10 hours (too slow!!!)

I liked the ability to review and change input. Turbo would required a date (mm/dd/yyyy) for raised cow, past manual returns have accepted "raised" as date acquired. Turbo required "sales expense" on mutual fund sales, my funds are administered by financial institution with no charge for individual trades. If you don't like my nickname, I'm sorry, but Bob is the nickname for Robert!!!
I tried competitor tax software for 2012. Turbo is far supperior.
What's great about it: Ability to review and work as time allowed
What's not so great: took tooooooo long. could have done by hand faster
Pros: I bought or sold investments
