Improving every year

I have been using Turbo Tax since it first came out. In the early days the user still had to have at least a simple understanding of his tax status and the bullet items provided for you to make selections from did not always make it easy to choose the right path. This has improved a great deal over the last few years.
I also am very pleased with the program's ability to import data directly from a number of sources, thus saving me not only the typing involved but also the need to find the correct box on a number of unfamiliar forms.
What's great about it: The interview is cleaner and easier to navigate every year.

Good for simple returns

Works for relatively simple returns. I have latest version of Quicken, importing data from Quicken hasn't worked properly for years (I have used Quicken and filed with TurboTax for 20 years). Used to import data, but totally screwed up now. I enter data by hand. Does let me compare itemized deductions versus standard deduction. Wouldn't trust it to download directly from financial institutions (or Quicken either). Intuit needs to completely rewrite source code, not just patch from year to year.
What's great about it: Walks you through return to make sure you don't overlook anything.
What's not so great: Won't take no for an answer on added options.

first time to use e-file

I have used TurboTax for years. Again I feel confident that all info was handled properly... I am a little concerned with the handling of the Limited Partnership sale data, but hopefully all went o.k.
What's great about it: auto download of w-2, 1099's
What's not so great: Hard to find stored 1099 info
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

I had a return that was relatively simple, so there was really no need for this program other than convenience.
I must comment that it was very bothersome attempting to select a nickname for this review due to duplicates.

What's great about it: The ability to correct mistakes easily instead of having to redo a form.
What's not so great: Prompting to complete state tax for state(FL) that has none.

when I tried to remove the disk it broke so I had to purchase another copy! I'm not happy !!!

Some of your nomenclature could be clearer. And I don't like the fact that you add apprehension by acting like you won't submit a return if the FEd doesn't have a form ready.
I filed an amended return last year and you didn't pick up the changes I entered. I had to print it and send it to the fed on paper but I used your program to file the and you must not have incorporated the amended information into our tax file. I had forgotten to include the long term care expenses into the deductions section and did that on the amendment.
What's great about it: fairly quick

Efficient as always

It's hard to imagine getting the forms wrong if you've got your information handy - the only impediment you'd ever have is not having kept track of all the stuff you should've kept track of regardless. Great product.
