Better each year.

This seems to be the best version yet. I have used Turbo Tax for 10 or more years. I have no desire to use another tax software. Anyone should feel safe using Turbo Tax.
I did my taxes one day and I had 656.00 dollars coming in my refund, I did the taxes the next day and I low and behold I changed the refund to over 3000.00. I had missed one section and turbo lead me thru again and found the missed section
It just seemed that the 2013 version was not as intuitive as was the 2012 version. Also when I went to use it the first time, it would not let me enter my state sales tax. I had to manually upgrade Turbo tax in order to get it to work. Why isn't a check done each time turbo tax is started to prevent using a back level program?
What's great about it: nice interface
What's not so great: little vague on some deductions
I have used Quicken for the past 10 years. In every case, the methodology behind the data entry was clear and concise. Help items were very easy to use and understand. All calculations were right on point. Thanks for a great software package.
What's great about it: Quick and easy to use
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)
Good program consistent with prior years but error messages for downloading state and constantly having to update software only to have downloads fail was inexcusable. For the money paid it was barely worth the effort. It would have taken less time for me to manually fill out my forms.
What's great about it: Once tax program fully loaded could do job
What's not so great: misleading error messages, download failures
Overall, Turbo tax is an exceptional product. However, the software attempts to drive one into filing state returns on multiple occasions, when not required for many military users. Thus, there should be an option to accommodate scenarios where no state return is required due to military service. In addition, when inputting personal information, the telephone number field does not allow for non U.S. phone numbers. Many military members overseas have no other option but to enter a friend's or relative's phone number.
What's great about it: Incorportes previous tax info (if used Turbo Tax); Easy, step-by-step process
What's not so great: Some steps not military friendly
