Turbo Tax Freedom does not permit importing info from your broker. This caused an error at review. Thanks to a great helper at Turbo Tax we got the problem resolved. It took over 2 hours though to accomplish this.
What's great about it: Have used turbo tax for years & think it is very good.
What's not so great: Using turbo tax freedom not so good.

I Always Count on TurboTax

I live in Texas, work in Texas and earn all of my income in Texas. I believe that TurboTax early on that I live, work and earn in Texas. But it still asked me about a TEXAS State filing about 6 or 7 times. It asked about Texas State Income Tax (there is none) and then it asked about my state sales tax rate.
You asked how it could be better and easier.
What's great about it: Easy to understand, Flexible
What's not so great: A few ads to upgrade but not bad!!
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I moved, I bought or sold investments

Worked good again this year

I have used Turbo Tax for over 8 years and it has functioned well. Reviewing the entered data is sometimes tedious, since it is easiest using the wizard - going to the forms to change values does not always pull up the supporting document. I am comfortable using the forms and would appreciate an "expert" option to do this directly - i.e., you trust me not to screw up.
What's great about it: dialogue was clear and understandable
What's not so great: not easy to verify values without using wizard

The only problem I had was finding the state and local code. Since I do not have to file a Florida state return, it was a little confusing.
The rest was excellent.
What's great about it: very comprehensive

Over all an easy program to use, but sometimes it keeps old forms from previous years that are no longer being used.
What's great about it: Easy step-by-step instructions.
What's not so great: Does not always know when to get rid of old forms.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

With limited time, there were too many problems. Had a printer failure and it was impossible to send the forms to another commputer for printing. Too many irrelvent qurstions, e.g address for the March of Dimes. Will not buy again.
What's great about it: ?
What's not so great: No telephone access for problems. Software would not load on primary coimmputer.

I didn't see an obvious way to sign out during prosess of working on taxes. Im not very computer savy and I was afraid to sign out for fear of not being able to get back in and of loosing all my info.
Also, when I used the back button, I don't think it always went back to previous page and allowed me to make changes.

Bit of a Hassle

TurboTax worked fine for entering the information required to determine tax and properly calculating the refund for deceased relative. However, the requirements related to e-filing vs. paper filing were not clear and the information on the forum was contradictory and unsubstantiated.
What's great about it: Relatively easy to enter data.
What's not so great: Confusing as to requirements related to filing final taxes for deceased relative.
