Need to Get Updates First

Turbo Tax waited until I had finished my Federal Return before it checked for updates to the software. The deduction for State Sales Tax had not been updated and I spent at least 20 minutes trying to figure out where to enter this deduction. In the end I went through the entire Return and then it checked for updates. I went back and the State Sales Tax section now allowed me to enter the amount. So the bottom line is I wasted my time but it was correct in the end. So my suggestion is to have the software check for updates before starting the Return.
What's great about it: Turbo Tax is easy to you especiaily if you use it each year
What's not so great: Needs to get updates at the beginning

Good stuff

All good except for con above; plus, even though not claiming Sch. C vehicle expenses, was forced to complete worksheet.
What's great about it: Fast and acccurate
What's not so great: state return prep costs too much, then you get hit with state e-filing fee

Poorly designed self help

At the end of my 3 hour easy install and first time user interface, I have yet to be satisfied with any assurance that my Taxes are filed, or if there is anything I can do to verify the filing correcty. Overall very disappointed with this product compared to the past. First time I used this product as a married man, and I hope all filings in the future with this software are not as in-conclusive. Nothing was explained clearly enough, is it illegal to not file State taxes? Turbo tax would not let me get this far or see to it that I not break any rules. A little more guidance would be helpful.
What's great about it: to the point prompts
What's not so great: no resolution of bigger issue, taxes filed?
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Good balance of being all-inclusive without asking too many questions. Used override command to change a computed value. It would have been helpful to point back to the precedents that made up the value (I eventually found them and cancelled the override).
What's great about it: Straightforward, intuitive

I've used TurboTax for many years now and I'm very satisfied with it's user friendly system. I would recommend it to anyone.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Have been using for over ten years, was once a much more complex return as worked multi states, itemized deductions, sched.. C etc. Have always been very pleased with system and service provided
