Since I was widowed in 2012, I had no income except my Social Security which is not taxed. I took the minimum amount from my IRA.,which is taxable. Since all my savings accounts do not earn very much interest these days, my tax return was very simple this year. I have been using Turbo Tax for many years and back when my husband was alive my tax return was much more complicated but with Turbo Tax taking me step by step, I got through it with no hassle. Without Turbo Tax I would have been a nervous wreck, so I value Turbo Tax highly. Thanks!
So much better than the TurboTax Basic 2013 Online edition. You can manually edit certain forms that the online version does not allow you to edit. Normally the online version worked well for me in the past.
This time, I was filing "married filing jointly" since I was married in 2013. This caused problems entering W-2 information in the online version because the employee address fields in the W-2 forms were automatically entered based on the mailing address in the Personal Information Section
Thanks to the TurboTax staff (22_Arranis H) they got me back on track with the downloadable TurboTax Basic 2013 edition. I was able to edit the fields I needed to edit and painlessly file my 2013 tax return
What's great about it: Allows you to manually input W-2 Employee addresses that the online version doesn't
What's not so great: none, worked flawlessly for me
I have utilized Turbo Tax for the last 12 years and it is amazingly user friendly, walks a person through every detail of taxes and I will continue using it for as long as I file my taxes! Great product
What's great about it: all aspects of Turbo Tax
What's not so great: none
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)
1:Turbo Tax wouldn't recognize my Adobe Reader software ,had to download Foxit Reader-no big deal 2: Wouldn't give me home office deduction because of zero net profit, yet I show a positive net profit on 1040 Line 12-not the end of the world
What's great about it: Easy to understand questions
