Every category has help blocks to understand each one! Have used TurboTax since before the day that IRS accepted efiles. I have efiled ever since and love the quickness of the money hitting my bank account!
What's great about it: Questions are always EZ to understand
What's not so great: Too Many invitations to upgrade

It is easy to use but when I saved my return prior to filing I lost it twice. Unable to locate it on my computer. I ended up doing it the third time and sent it in without waiting. Never had problems before and I have used it for years. I found all of those old tax files without any problems.
What's great about it: easy to use
What's not so great: I kept losing my return
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

I've been using Turbo Tax for many, many years!!! I am a loyal repeat consumer and will continue to use this awesome product. Hats off to the development design team!!! The price is cost effective for middle class working Americans.

2013 TurboTax Basic

Turbo Tax Basic was not ready for prime time.
Turbo Tax Basic did not offer to update it's program until we were ready to file. I assumed it updated when I loaded the program - but it wasn't up to date. It indicated that I couldn't e-file because IRS was not done with creating forms. When it finally wanted to check for updates, it waited several minutes getting to the update server, before making any indication that anything was happening. Thought system was locked up while waiting for update server - no indication anything was happening. No animation indicating it was waiting to hook up to server. My daughter had the same exact problem with a 2nd copy of Turbo Tax Basic - I bought two. This verified a software glitch, to me. We finally got both copies to e-file.

Turbo Tax did a great job of guiding me through the Income Tax calculation process, and greatly speeded up the final solution of my tax liability. The program allowed me to perform the calculations without seeking outside assistance at a considerably greater cost.
What's great about it: Straigtht forward and easy to follow process
What's not so great: Some times the advice was a bit sketchy and required a bit more time to research for a final decision.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

A glitch

Program says I cannot file a federal return because Form 1040, Schedule K-1 is not yet available. I don't need to file a Form 1040, Schedule K-1, as it was closed with the IRS in 2012, and apparently I'm not the only one. FIX THIS, PLEASE!!!

What's not so great: TurboTax won't let me efile a 2013 Federal return
