Tackled My Taxes

Assemble all your forms and documents and you're home free. Turbo tax does the rest. Less than an hour away from a click and file. I'll be back next year!

Turbo Tax user for at least ten years. For 2013, might be the slowest software yet. Updates are so slow when you boot up and at first unavailable unless requested. Intuit needs to think through this process again. Program is similar year to year, so makes input move along. I am one to input where I need to when documents arrive, thus the dialogue is annoying at a minimum. Would like to option to PRINT! Also not in favor of all the sales efforts once has to click through in the program. Intuit might want to consider added these to the end of the process. Overall, gets the job done.
What's great about it: Simplify income tax preparation
What's not so great: So slow to boot up and update the program
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

TurboTax is a 4-Letter Word... EASY!

I have been using TurboTax for many years (do you remember 7-inch floppies?). I trust TurboTax with the most complex tax situations and I believe BASIC should cover most taxpayers. TurboTax is trustworthy and fast and can have your Federal tax prepared and electronically filed in about an hour (if you have all your documents in order). A great financial product.
What's great about it: Intuitive and comprehensive leaving no deduction-stone unturned
What's not so great: Forgetting a document that TurboTax asks for.

Studen Loan Debt Forgiveness

Does not handle student loan debt forgiveness. It needs to and when Turbo attempts to, it doesn't handle it accurately. The only place you can enter the information when prompted is in Mortgage Debt forgiveness. The worksheet has to be edited directly and it gives errors. Took longer than to do by hand.Turbo does not handle 1099-C very well.
What's great about it: Good for Filing Moderatly Simple Returns, Good Prompting for Questions
What's not so great: Doesn't handle Student Loan Debt Forgiveness Acurately

I used to dislike turbo-tax because I found it difficult to navigate, and sometimes difficult to understand. Each year, it seems to get a little easier to use, and seems to require less guessing. It was pretty easy this year,
What's great about it: didn't freeze my computer, unlike compettion. navigation improving. covers all of my situations
What's not so great: didn't really have any

Salvation for the Procrastinator

As is almost always the case I waited until (almost) the last minute to prepare/file my son's return. Rather than an all afternoon/evening ordeal, I was done in aproximately 1 1/2 hours - and that's while watching the final round of the Masters!!!!!!
What's great about it: Ease of Use, Comprehensive
What's not so great: None

2013 tax prep

Once again turbo tax was very easy. Downloading previous year and the data from my financial institution worked great. Suggestion would be on the major section (ie Income) put an additional button at the TOP of the section (it is currently at the bottom) to allow you to choose the next topic.
