Makes it simple

I found the necessary papers I needed to file correctly. Used a different software last year, for the first time I received a letter from the IRS with a bill.
This was an error due to the other software not filing a 1099-R properly.
I will stick with TT.
What's great about it: Easy to use. Found the scedules I needed quickly.
What's not so great: Need a way to access account if e-mail has been changed.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

2013 Tax Review for Turbo Tax
on April 13, 2014

I seem to be in a loop where it keeps going back to review, but won't let me e-file. Very frustrating. Also, I live in Florida and there isn't any state income tax, but this program keeps asking me to file my state tax. When I click on just file my federal income tax, it doesn't do it.
What's great about it: Listing of ?s is easy to follow
What's not so great: Was stuck on trying to e-file tax return

I'd never file my taxes without Turbotax

Great product for making tax filing easy and relatively painless. A little excessive with the requests to purchase related products (state tax, upgrades to premier, audit protection, etc) one request is fine, multiple gets annoying
What's great about it: easy, logical, user friendly,
What's not so great: a little excessive with the multiple requests to purchase related products

Problems Exist

Form 1099-R from State Farm showed a taxable amount (2a) of 30,495.67. The form showed a gross distribution of 27,247.50 since I had State Farm to deduct 3,049.57 for tax purposes.Turbo Tax insisted the Taxable amount had to be same as the gross distribution which apparently is not true..Either Turbo Tax or State Farm is wrong. I believe Turbo Tax is wrong. For Turbo Tax to allow me to file I changed the gross distribution to the taxable amount.
Would appreciate your comments on this, please.
What's great about it: Comprehensive
What's not so great: Very slow. AlsoTurbo Tax apparently has a bug. Even this review is rather tedious.
Pros: I bought or sold investments

5 Star Tax Calculator -1 Star Program Documentatio
on April 13, 2014

I understand tax calculations and the program seems to take care of the details
I can not get help for operating the program. Here is an example: I down load my interest from eTrade. When I enter the dividends, do I do the down load again? You have to try it to find out and if you do the down load a second time, you will have the biggest mess, you'll probably have to start again. I hate experimenting to find out what the program is doing. I want to talk to Turbotax about what their program is doing.
What's great about it: Down loads from investment firms, accuracy of calculation
What's not so great: Lack of contact with TurboTax
Pros: I bought or sold investments
