2013 Turbo Tax

Easy to use and good price for the software and the efiling.
What's great about it: Easy tofollow and detailed.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

I've used this product for several years and have been generally very satisfied, Basic forms were not available, and I'm sure the IRS had finialized the forms. Updates indicated that they weren't ready as of 4/14/14, I had to file for an extension, what a pain. No excuse, I won't use this product again.
What's great about it: Easy to use, asks simple questions and asks all questions concerning a thorough return .
What's not so great: Basic IRS forms were not available as of 4/14/14, unacceptable

This program helps to guide you through the maze of tax preparation which prepares you for keeping accurate records for the following year. All in all a great time saver for a less than exciting task.
What's great about it: Accurate calculations, step by step guidance, tremendous time saver

Very Easy

I have used Turbo Tax for >10 years. I switched from a "big name" tax preparer, when I realized I knew more about deductions than they did. It's simple, user friendly and quick. I can do it in stages, whenever I want.
What's great about it: Step by step, catches mistakes
What's not so great: none yet

It seems to me my Windows 7 machine met your minimum requirements. Nothing told me why your software thought it did not.
It never asked me to check for updates. It should do that first thing.
Did not find where to enter income from a personal loan.
What's great about it: Easy to follow
What's not so great: would not load on my Windows 7 machine. Not sure why my machine did not meet minimum requirements.

State did not include e-file

I specifically purchased NJ state to save me time and money. NJ state is a very easy for to fill out but because I have a K-1 I need to paper file. I have submitted paper in the past, very easy 5 pages. I decided to try the NJ State turbo tax. I assumed, and I guess that is my fault, the purchasing the state INCLUDED e-file (at least one) like the feds, it does not.
Will never purchase state turbo tax again.
