It was easy and fast. It walked me through every step sometimes more than once. I expect software with that steep of a price tag to include State returns. The time it saved didn't justify the cost, especially when i'm forced to click through ads.
The software update happens after you have completed your federal return. This appears to me to be so the software can download your state forms based on your input. Why doesn't the state form download after I have agreed to purchase the state form expansion? That was a waste of my time.
I'll look for a better way to prepare my taxes next year.
I live in Texas and have no state income tax. When the software gets to the place of filing the taxes, it always asks about filing state income tax. Seems like the software should be able to pick up from my answers that I don't need to do that. As you can see, my only complaint is trivial - I've used Turbo Tax for over a decade and I've never had any problems.
What's great about it: It walks you through everything as if you were being interviewed.
